Insurance runs don’t exist with this year’s team. It takes entire legions to cross HP before any sense of security can be achieved. Need about a half dozen more runs.

Also noted the surprising comments by Mo regarding Contreras. He basically said “we will deal with that in the upcoming offseason.”

Of more interest than this club’s play is what moves will be made that will help shape the 2024 version. My sense is someone will be traded that I hate seeing go, someone we will be selling low on. But the club is sort of “painted into a corner” on pitching, as they desperately need to add some decent arms, which means some guys who could very well be solid players over the next five years or more will likely need to go to bring in pitching talent.
Didn’t Flaherty and Montgomery indicate they intend to file for free agency? If so, your either trade them now or plan on giving each a qulifying offer at the end of the year. However, I am not sure either is capable of providing enough value to justify a Qualifying Offer based on their career numbers. Good pitchers, just not sure they are worth that much money.
