I agree that the off season will be long, but we do have a few players to follow in the Arizona Fall League. Not the same, but at least there is still some baseball worth following!

Looks like 71-91 is and forever shall remain the Cards record for 2023.

    Glad to see it go.

    On to brighter days!

4-3 win, that’s a wrap on the season. Have a safe and enjoyable winter all.

Haha!…Yeah, the possibilities are undoubtedly endless with Walker and Baker at the IF corners. Somehow I’m envisioning a scenario not at all unlike a duo consisting of Ringling Bros. paired up with Barnum and Bailey…Come to think of it, the current Cardinal manager would fit right in as the ringleader!

Around 137 days until Spring Training.

    In case anyone is wondering.

What time’s first pitch for the first ’23 post-season game? I guess the guys who are situated on Madison Ave. will make that decision.

Didn’t get to watch today but saw votto got ejected early. On him I guess. I would think he retires but who knows. I definitely can’t see him returning with reds unless he plays for a lot less just to have a curtain call season like waino.

I’d say 137 days is quite awhile to go without din-din…Better load up at the Amish restaurant this evening…

My gut feeling is Joey Votto will return to the Reds for the 2024 season. Part timer, pinch-hitter, double-switch guy, defensive replacement, some starts here and there. Around 150-200 atbats. The Reds might be in contention for the NL Central next year. I bet he would like to be part of that.

Then again, the Reds could finish 4th or 5th next year. Guess we will have to wait and see.

The Reds have an option for Votto for next year, but it is for $20 million. No way will they exercise that. Maybe they can agree to a lower dollar deal for him to come back, but the rub is that the Reds are already on the hook to pay him $7 million as a buyout for the old/current contract.

With the win today, I believe the Cards will get the 6th pick in the draft next year. 5 would have been fine, but I guess 6 is ok too. When’s the last time the Cards picked that early?

stlcard, do you know there is a lottery to determine this? Cards start the lottery with the 5th highest probability. They could land anywhere from 1 to 12, with a 52.9% chance they draw one of the top 5 picks.
