Shoe is on the other foot tonight, although Pallante is feeling bad for the Reds and giving them some help.

Reds on their sixth pitcher of the night. They are in trouble if this goes to extras.

They have out hit the Cardinals 11-10 so far…

I would have loved to see Wainwright come in and get the last two outs in the 5th inning.
He could have jumped ahead of the other 4 pitchers with 200 wins.

Still too early to tell for sure. But it looks like Rom is pretty good with that sidearm motion for 2 or 3 innings. Then, the batters figure him out, and he’s done. He should be okay for mid innings relief unless the batters can still remember how to his him from the last time they saw him.

Rom actually pitched pretty well tonight. At one point, his ERA was down to like 7.19.

The problem was, Pallante came in and was throwing meatballs to allow two inherited runners to score (from first and second). That pushed Rom’s ERA back up to over 8.

Cubs and Reds have been eliminated from the playoffs.

The Marlins and Diamondbacks are in.

I like it, especially the Cubs going home! 😊

Some of the players got tee times for this week in May.

I don’t want it to happen but I have this feeling in the back of my mind that Arenado will get traded for pitching. We have a replacement already….. Gorman. Walker played 3rd for years but there is a world of doubt that he can handle it these days in the MLB. Arenado came here looking to play for a winner, and when do you think that the Cards will be “winners” again…. and don’t say ’24.

After a season like this, everything and everyone should be open to scrutiny. All possibilities should be open for consideration. That includes the possibility of guys mailing it in or checking out early. I’ve encountered some pushback on that subject as well as on just how untouchable the bronze busts and Fabergé eggs will be this winter. Its going to be a bare knuckles winter.
