The last hurrah, possibly? What if he bombs out again?

For the number of starts he has this year – his stats have to be among the worst performances in major league history if not THE worst…..

The 10 worst ERAs of all time

What if he bombs out again?

His results have not mattered so far. Is there any reason to think that is about to change?

The narrative coming from Marmol and Mo regarding Wainwright has changed.

Instead of a terse, “He’s making his next start.” response at least they have verbally acknowledged the obvious.

One thing I have noted is how relaxed and generally happy the players and coaches seem to be.

They seem to have accepted this season for what it is and are playing out the string with a song in their hearts, lol.

The Waino stuff is about the only big sports story we have right now. That and storys about how bad we are.Not enough for the retiring legends dog and pony show we had last year. Gonna make it hard to sell tickets. Will have to enjoy the present game competition from here on.Buid for next year beyond that.Go Cardinals!

So, after two innings we will be trailing the Mets by the score of 5-0.

    What’s your pick?

    Worse than 5-0?
    or
    Better than 5-0?

My pick is it will be worse than 5-0 after two innings.

It would be useful to see what Palacios looks like in the field.

I totally jinxed Lib last night. I’m keeping my mouth shut. Just know that watching ball is like breathing for me. Can’t remember when I didn’t do it. Waino is good people. Hope he finds a nut.

Whoa!…Another game featuring Manny Motter and this time the Redbird manager has him manning up at SS! I sure don’t want to miss Manny’s mitt in tonight’s game. I expect him to effectively close off the enitre left side of the IF with his cat like quickness as he pounces on anything that attempts to bleed through to LF!

Wainwright once again attempts to attain W number 199. This time against the team that he established himself into Redbird lore on Oct. 19th of 2006.

I’d rather see Palacios in the OF, Edman at SS and Motter sent to clown school but I don’t make the choices.

Plus he’s going against one of his hometown teams. Never know if you can catch lightning in a bottle for a couple days however unlikely.

Wainwright pitched better but is down 3-0 after six innings. He’s now out of the game. The heart of the St. Louis order just went down on six pitches.

I’d say pencil Wainwright in for a rotation spot in 2024..:)

I see Wainwright turned in a quality start. Nice. But the offense laid an egg so far. One hit through six innings. Pitiful. So Adam leaves after 6 trailing 3-0. Now Pallante is in for the 7th.

He showed he can still do enough.

Got the game on Thursday night BB tonight. Been all Mets though. Dysfunctional baserunning cost us a much needed run. Waino pretty much a clunker but not a blow out. He just made it 5 innings. With some runs we could get a win.

Now the offense is being “offensive”. Got a pretty bad streak of scoreless innings going, and against clubs as bad or worse than us no less.

Thought we should have re-upped on Quintana last year. He pitches great in his post season start, and we let him walk. Obviously he ended up missing most of the year, so in hindsight not a big deal. But he might be nice to have in ‘24.

Edman up with 2 on doesn’t take the switch hit. Batting right on right.
