In addition to the bench coach, the Cardinals need a new assistant hitting coach. So much for the stated intent to keep the staff intact…
Can confirm @jmjones report (not that he ever needs the confirmation!) that Jobel Jimenez will not return to the #STLCards organization in 2022. Jimenez was offered a role as a minor league roving instructor but ultimately declined.

The Cardinals are hiring minor league hitting coaches for the upcoming season. We have a couple spots available. If you are interested then please apply using the link below and we will begin reviewing applications soon.https://t.co/2Fq6zUDfkH

November 1, 2021 at 6:45 pm #176067I guess Albert is shaking up his staff.
November 1, 2021 at 6:48 pm #176072I did not apply for the minor league hitting position…..I love our team too much. But I did apply to be a recipient of future job opening alerts within the Cardinal organization. It is my hope that a radio broadcasting opening occurs somewhere within our minor league system. I’ll work all summer for the grand total of $1 and I’ll even cover my own expenses. The only unequivocal guarantee that I can offer is that they’ll be begging me to come back in ’23.

If Albert and Mo keep firing people, they’ll eventually get rid of the the guy who is responsible for the Cardinals’ poor run production that began when Albert was hired.

November 6, 2021 at 9:15 pm #176280Is Skip now the heir apparent in case Marmol fails to deliver?
November 7, 2021 at 9:07 am #176294It sure looks like they are setting it up that way. I wonder why not just hire him as manager in the first place?
November 8, 2021 at 11:40 am #176371Former Cardinals assistant hitting coach Jobel Jiménez has accepted a role with the Angels as an assistant hitting coach for the organization’s minor league system, I’m told. Jiménez rejected an offer to stay with the #STLCards for 2022.

November 15, 2021 at 3:04 pm #176774As the #stlcards fill out their staff, bench coach Skip Schumaker is already known, but new assistant hitting coach Turner Ward has ties to the team, as well. (free) https://t.co/xZpKx7mkQr pic.twitter.com/JWLtZpS6tx

November 15, 2021 at 4:30 pm #176780I chuckle every time I think about Turner Ward and Yasiel Puig. That may have been the most uncomfortable any human has ever been. but Ward never wavered in his undying patience working with Puig.
November 15, 2021 at 4:47 pm #176781Puig was, is, and always will be a complete IDIOT.
November 17, 2021 at 2:37 pm #176900The #stlcards have reportedly hired a long-time manager from the Baltimore organization to manage the Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals in 2022. (free) https://t.co/UGdBTksf1r pic.twitter.com/cWKU6Wr615
