I was wrong again. Another mistake. Thats four (4) now. Wainwright didn’t get shelled. I was expecting about another 10-3 drubbing.
On to the nation’s capital…….
July 27, 2022 at 9:22 pm #192796I agree Cards 27! Great to see some runs scored with 13 hits overall! Almost everyone with a hit. 3 rbi by Albert and Gorman and Albert dingers. The bottom half of our order really did well tonight. Great pitching 6 innings by Waino and closed by Gino and Helsley! Lets get playing post All Star break and start winning some series now! Go Cardinals!
July 27, 2022 at 10:53 pm #192801Shake it off and get right on back in that batter’s box, Rat.
Gorman performed admirably tonight as was expected. Could you imagine the look on his face when he first discovered that he was hitting 8th in the lineup. Not in Gorman’s worst nightmare did it include himself batting 8th…..in any lineup. It was a good move by Marmol. Now he needs to be rewarded. I guarantee that in his next start, you will not see him batting 8th. And hopefully we’ll never see him hitting that low again in his entire career.
Boy is Albert sure dialed in. He’s going to come pretty close to joining that elite 700 home run club. What if he finishes the year at 698 or 699? Should be interesting.
And how about Carlson out in center field? I’ve always liked Bader, but Carlson’s stellar play has pretty much made me forget all about Harrison. The odds have to be pretty strong for him getting dealt relatively soon.
And Sandy Alcantara. Can we please not mention his name……. especially in conjunction with Steve Carlton (cough cough…. BicycleMike). I’ll just say how in blazes could we have let that man go? Mistakes can happen, but that one is pretty tough to take……ok let’s forget all about the guy……but just picture him in a Cards uniform right now. We do not have a true Ace(a tip of the cap to Waino though) and you cannot win a world series without at least one bonafide Ace.
July 28, 2022 at 1:56 am #192809A pleasant wakeup this morning to salvage the split. Now for another day off and some more of that nice bat work in Washington. Rah Cardinals!
The last Cardinals game I actually attended was in Washington. Watched Dexter Fowler flail (remember him?), but we won anyway.

jj-cf-stlParticipantAdam with a GmSc of 71. The hook was nasty. We go as our pitching goes.
