According to Baseball Reference Molina has hit into 281 doubleplays in his career. Just think how many rallies he has killed. Yesterday was no exception. We were very fortunate, thanks to Yepez and Edman.

By the way, that Swarmer guy from the Cubs, I believe his name is Cy Swarmer. The guy that shut us down last week at Wrigley. He gave up six (6) homeruns to the Yankees tonight. Two more by Judge.

Did not see the situation regarding Bader yesterday. I know back in the day LaRussa always gave Pujols a pass on his not-running-out plays, although I never bought in to that. It was the one part of Albert’s game in his prime that was not first class.

Good to see O’Neill come back and swing the bat pretty well. He still seems a little tentative at the dish, but with the talent he has he just needs to go out there everyday and the rest will take care of itself.

I like the strategy BR brought up about a possible squeeze. Whitey did that all the time, but that was a different era and his teams had no power to speak of. Still even in the modern rocket era of baseball, times will be that small-ball can still be of value.

Milwaukee really struggling lately. Our club riding on the top of the heap in the NL Central. Man, you watch those Yankees though and they look like the vintage clubs. Cannot see anyone beating them barring injuries to some of their key personnel. Judge might hit 62 this year.

Pujols batting against a RHP. Alas, it’s a Sunday home game…

This Ashcraft guy has a Gibson-like 1.14 ERA. I expect it to balloon today. I am going to say Arenado gets off the schneid with a ringing dinger to the Reds bullpen today. I am calling this one 7-2 Redbirds. The only way we lose this one is if Kenny Hudson starts walking batters again. Now that he pitches faster he has less time to think and therefore his mechanics just simply take over.

Din-din today is the Ratsbuddy’s version of what we call Beef Burgundy. It’s curly noodles with beef and brown gravy all over the top. Along with some bread & butter, Mt. Dew, and a big slice of Cookies n’ Cream pie. Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for this one. Along with a couple 7×50 Palma Real Presidente cigars.

By the way, I was watching the Reds broadcast yesterday. When Edman hit the homerun they were just about speechless. Sort of like the way we were down in Tampa last Tuesday. Isn’t that funny, the way we lose on a two out walkoff homerun and then six days later win on a walkoff.

Difference in those two games is that our loss probably could have been avoided.

Exactly Brian. Anyone who thinks the front office doesn’t have input into the lineups is being naive. Gotta sell those tickets.

Wanna sell tickets or win gsmes? Should do good with Hudson today but I hope that 1 something ERA is because hes just getting started. Goldy replaced by Gorman today could be interesting.
Din-din will be Kielbasa and Deluxe Mac and Cheese. Some left over baked beans and homemade tossed salad.
    Go Cardinals!

Goldy missing his 3rd start of the season. The first two were on doubleheader days, so not really days off.

Carlson sitting after a collision is understandable. So Marmol is choosing between Molina, Pujols and Sosa for a DH. Yep, give me Albert.

Actually, unless I’m mistaken the only LH bats are already in the lineup. Carlson banged up maybe. The situation with Bader is kind of hard to figure when you have Yadi and Albert slow jogging out every ground ball. I understand they are at different stages in their careers but. All balls should be run out period. Maybe Yadi and Albert would be in better shape.

Not sure Pujols playing today would move the needle on ticket sales. Haw many people who have not bought tickets will drop everything they are doing and run downtown just because they saw that Albert is in the lineup?

It is a little odd, but it look more like giving Goldy a day off was the plan and it’s like, “Heck, lets put Albert out there and maybe he will run into one and provide a thrill.”

My lineup would have had Gorman at DH, Sosa at short and Edman at second. Better defense and athleticism. But I know they want Gorman to have the reps at second.

And now Arenado chips in his bit with homer to left. 3-0 birds.

If it weren’t for the double plays, the Cards would be in some trouble already. Hudson is not pitching well, and we needed it before the Pirates series. 3-3 in the top of the 4th.

Well, we couldn’t stand the prosperity and gave it all back, 3-3.

Nice CS by Knizner puts an end to the uprising.

By Golly it’s true. Puhols can’t hit RHP worth a damn.

Albert is hitting .125 against RHP. There’s 0 defensible reason to have him in the lineup against a righty.
