With the deadline madness in overdrive I almost forgot there is a game tonight.

So they option Fernandez and keep McFarland around longer? Unbelievable

I didn’t expect McFarland to go anywhere. The Cardinals over the last half dozen years seem to be reluctant to part with ineffective pitchers unless they are REAL bad.

35 minutes left to make a blockbuster trade. I feel it coming. I’m holding my breath.

I wonder if the Giants would want O’Neill for Rodon?

LOL, DeJug there to offer protection for Arenado!! That has to be a sarcastic post. A .130 hitter ain’t gonna put fear into anyone in the other dugout.

According to my math we have 27 players on the active roster right now. Someone else still has to go.

I thought the same thing with DeJong batting fifth. A couple of homers and he becomes a go-to RBI guy.

Well the trade dust has almost settled. Still waiting to see if the Bader trades legit. My wife had plantar fasciatas surgery for hers and it worked great but its not a quick comeback. MCL surgerys not quick either but easier than ACL.
Surprised to see Edman in there tonight too the way his bats been fading. Sosas gone to back up the infield so I guess they need him for defense.Din-din was Taco Tuesday.
    Go Cardinals!

I think they have a few days to add Montgomery to the active roster. Last year with Lester they did the same thing.

I assume Fernandez was optioned to make room for Stratton on the 26 man. Oviedo cleared a 40 and 26 man spot for Quintana. Romine was DFA for the other 40 man spot.
Bader clears a 40 man spot for Montgomery, but a 26 man spot will be needed.
Austin Allen has an option and I assume will be optioned to Memphis, but a 40 man spot will be needed.
I’m going to keep on hoping McFarland is DFA and clears the 26 and 40 man spots needed.
