November 7, 2022 at 6:31 pm #206277Oliver Marmol is not among the top three vote getters for NL Manager of the Year. They are Dave Roberts, Buck Showalter and Brian Snitker.
November 7, 2022 at 6:59 pm #206282The Cardinals have two of the top three NL MVP finishers.

November 7, 2022 at 7:33 pm #206286Sandy Alcantara, Max Fried and Julio Urias are the NL Cy Young Award top three finishers.
November 10, 2022 at 7:02 pm #206494Arenado and Goldschmidt win NL Silver Slugger Awards.
November 14, 2022 at 7:29 pm #206782Harris of Atlanta wins the NL ROY. Spencer Strider finishes 2nd. Brendan Donovan places 3rd.
I’m surprised at this. I agreed with Mr. Walton’s early assessment, that Strider would be the winner.

November 15, 2022 at 7:11 pm #206888The “worst manager in MLB” finished fourth. What do those writers know?
Oli Marmol, who led the #STLCards to 93 wins and an NL Central Division crown in his first year as manager, finished fourth in the voting for the NL @officialBBWAA Manager of the Year award. Marmol got five first-place votes. #Mets skipper Buck Showalter won the NL award. pic.twitter.com/tABczCLlYG

November 15, 2022 at 7:28 pm #206891Dusty should have won.
November 15, 2022 at 8:33 pm #206892The “worst manager in MLB” finished fourth. What do those writers know?
Well, he’s 27th worst.
November 15, 2022 at 8:41 pm #20689412th worst in the NL anyway…
November 16, 2022 at 9:42 am #206910The “worst manager in MLB” finished fourth. What do those writers know?
Some folks just have an axe to grind.

November 16, 2022 at 7:24 pm #206993Both were unanimous. Imagine that.
Didn’t that Alcantara guy used to be a Cardinal?
November 16, 2022 at 7:33 pm #206994Yes, he was part of the Ozuna trade.
November 16, 2022 at 7:37 pm #206996Yeah, pretty sure Alcantara was once a Redbird. So was Zac Gallen who also went to the Marlins in the trade for Ozuna. He placed 5th in the NL CYA voting. You win some and sometimes you get your backside handed to you in a basket…
November 16, 2022 at 7:40 pm #206997It doesn’t change the bottom line comparison right now at least, but be aware that Tink Hence is only a Cardinal because of the compensation pick the Cardinals were awarded when Ozuna turned down a qualifying offer to remain a Cardinal for a third year and instead went into free agency.
November 16, 2022 at 7:43 pm #206998Well, if we got a guy named Tink Hence, there’s always hope for a silver lining.
November 16, 2022 at 7:52 pm #206999I was thinking that Verlander may be the oldest guy to win a CYA, but I forgot about Clemens who was 41 when he won the award for the 7th time. Verlander ties with Gaylord Perry and Early Winn for second place on the old guys list at 39 years of age.
November 16, 2022 at 8:00 pm #207001Well, the only award left is the MVP. I hope Goldschmidt wins it in the NL, but I’m sure he’d trade it for a good showing in the post-season. I still can’t ever recall a hitter as good as he is instantly becoming entirely lost inside the batter’s box. It was a doggone shame.
November 16, 2022 at 8:19 pm #207003I was sure that Mike Schildt was awarded the NL MOY in 2019, but had to look up where he placed in the voting in 2021. He was 3rd in the voting for that award in ’21, but I don’t know how he could have accepted the award in ’21, because he had already been cashiered when the voting was announced for that season…Haha! Marmol placed 4th this year. I wonder if that makes him nervous?
November 17, 2022 at 12:19 pm #207034Guys….I knew Alcantara was a Cardinal. I was trying to be, well, you know.
And is everybody ready for the announcement of Goldschmidt as the NL MVP later tonight? And, quite obviously, it will be Judge in the AL.

November 17, 2022 at 5:23 pm #207045I hope Goldschmidt takes home the MVP trophy. I think he deserves it, but youneverknow how these things might pan out. If he doesn’t win the MVP award, I’m guessing he’ll be satisfied with already being named the winner of the coveted Heart and Hustle award.
November 17, 2022 at 6:44 pm #207059A very impressive group.
Goldy joins elite company.
