    Pugs?

I cant post. I keep getting that error message “Your reply cannot be created at this time.” Seems to be a Saturday problem for me.

I have no idea if this post will appear or not.

When we can roll Cabrera, Gallegos, and Reyes out there we are tough to beat. The problem is we don’t have much else in the bullpen we can rely on.

Apparently Mikolas is having an MRI tonight. Something tells me he is looking at another long stay on the shelf.

On a brighter note, how about Edmundo Sosa? Wow! DeJong will probably get his job back but I’m not sure he should.

Oh and beating the Cubs is always glorious.

Indeed, Sosa has looked very good. I especially enjoy watching him with the glove. Many people wanted to see Sosa get a shot, but I especially want to call out bccran, who’s been very high on this young man. Good call, bc.

Didn’t Sosa get mostly outfield time during ST? When there are outfield starts available (after DeJong returns) I’d like to see Sosa get the same consideration as Williams and Thomas.

Hat-tip to Sosa and Thomas for getting that game tied up.

    Sosa’s OPS so far – .981
    Thomas – .533

After wondering what Mikolas would look like on his return to STL for such a long time…. I think that we finally have an answer. Plan B to follow. There are 15 games straight coming up there will be several SPs that will be considered to fill in. I think that Gant will be called on to step back in but we’ll stll be waitjng for someone else to take his place so he can go back to the BP. So much of our starter pitching depth was traded away. The well being of Wainright-Martinez-Kim now becomes red alert critical.

For next season we should be looking at Flaherty-Hudson and three new internal faces. That’s my hunch.

Every spring there is the “we’re set with pitching” crowd. The “we’ve got 7-8 legit starters” crowd. I think somebody listed 8 or 9 this spring. We’re half way through May and struggling to come up with a rotation and a pen. Whoever we bring up either can’t put it over the plate or know what will happen if they do, MLB hitters are geared up to hit upper 90s. It’s not a thing anymore. Hello?

Hopefully, one will be somebody like Scherzer. We need a front-line rotation piece.

Does Sosa play any position other than shortstop? As of now id like to see him remain in the lineup when dejong comes back.

He plays 2nd and 3rd. Hate putting a left side arm on the right side.

He might be about to find out if he can play in the OF.

Turns out I was right in my concern about Mikolas’ drop in velocity.

He might be about able to find out if he can play in the OF.

Sosa is an athlete and anyone who can run just slightly above average, isn’t terribly clumsy and can count to 3, can quickly learn to play left field, Z. Kind of reminds me of an odd recent dream I had where Yadi was playing center field and this ball is hit over his head…Yadi drifts back to the track and this football goes sailing right over his head and into the stands. Then the dream flashed right to home plate where Ray Guy was punting footballs in a Minnesota Vikings uniform of all things. The last thing I remember was Yadi catching one of Guy’s punts in center field and then racing right in towards the infield where he gets roughly tackled by a bunch of Vikings.

Yeah, nice Mikolas observation, Black Hills.

I suspect some shorted wires in your dream machine Pugs. Perhaps a higher protein diet would help.
I believe we’ve already had some left fielders who didn’t meet your criteria.

What if Mikolas passes the MRI (no damage)? Can he start throwing around 50 mph in a couple of weeks?
