jj-cf-stlParticipantThat’s it Jose, drive up the pitch count.
May 4, 2018 at 8:38 pm #50960
stlcard25ParticipantA couple of hard hit balls end up as outs for Mikolas and Pham, but that’s a bad omen for Quintana.
May 4, 2018 at 8:46 pm #50961
stlcard25ParticipantAs much as the Cards have basically controlled this game… it’s one slap single from a one run game and a bomb away from tied.
May 4, 2018 at 8:49 pm #50962
stlcard25ParticipantMikolas with the nice K and gets Bryant to ground out to get by unscathed. That was big.
May 4, 2018 at 9:23 pm #50971Mikolas works out of a 2 out hit and gets Zobrist to line out to LF. Miles should be done for the evening.
May 4, 2018 at 9:23 pm #50972
stlcard25ParticipantGreat effort tonight from Mikolas. Not sure if that’s it for him but if it is, that’s exactly what we needed. Going to be up to the bullpen to hold it whenever they’re called upon.
May 4, 2018 at 9:29 pm #50974I am amazed by Mikolas’ consistency.
May 4, 2018 at 9:33 pm #50975When I was a kid, fan clubs were all the rage. They’ve gone the way of the dinosaur. Mikolas rekindles those fond memories.
May 4, 2018 at 9:36 pm #50976
stlcard25ParticipantApparently Mikolas is getting a shot to go back out for the 8th. Seems risky but somehow less so than trusting Gregerson or Lyons.
May 4, 2018 at 9:39 pm #50978
jj-cf-stlParticipantA pleasure watching Miles compete in the strike zone.
Hat-TipMay 4, 2018 at 9:40 pm #50979Mikolas give up a lead off double and is pulled.
I wouldn’t have left him in but hey….
May 4, 2018 at 9:40 pm #50980
stlcard25ParticipantAnother chance for the bullpen to ruin a guy’s ERA. Why can’t it just be a nice boring finish to the game? Heh
May 4, 2018 at 9:41 pm #50981I wish his first name was “Mickey. How sweet would that be….Mickey Mikolas. With a name like that how could you not be a consistent 20 game winner. Anyway, kudos to Mo & Co. for bringing him home to us. Remember, the guy can stroke the long ball himself every now and then too. StlCard25…..he could go 12 frames tonight if needed.
May 4, 2018 at 9:42 pm #50982Believe in our pen! Just keep Leone and Holland away from the action.
May 4, 2018 at 9:43 pm #50983
stlcard25ParticipantLeone in…his homeritis is due to regress at some point.
…right?
May 4, 2018 at 9:44 pm #50984In comes Leone
and out comes leone with an arm injury.
May 4, 2018 at 9:45 pm #50985
jj-cf-stlParticipantFlaherty for Leone now looks possible if they didn’t really want to start Gant.
May 4, 2018 at 9:45 pm #50986
stlcard25ParticipantLeone now injured during his warmup. Ouch. Now bringing someone else in.
May 4, 2018 at 9:45 pm #50987Didn’t they have Gregorsen warming up the previous inning?
May 4, 2018 at 9:51 pm #50988
stlcard25ParticipantReally didn’t look good for Leone on all those replays. Hopefully not terribly serious but that’s the type of thing that usually means elbow surgery.
Gregerson isn’t the guy you’d want normally but probably only in for one batter.
May 4, 2018 at 9:57 pm #50989
stlcard25ParticipantGregerson navigated Contreras and Schwarber to maintain the shutout. Good work there.
Now can we just get an insurance run or two this inning??
May 4, 2018 at 10:02 pm #50990
stlcard25ParticipantQuick half of the eighth…in comes Norris to finish it off.
May 4, 2018 at 10:09 pm #50991
stlcard25ParticipantTwo singles and the tying run comes to the plate …
May 4, 2018 at 10:10 pm #50992runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Is anyone warming up?
May 4, 2018 at 10:12 pm #50993
stlcard25ParticipantCubs are crushing Norris. Not one of the balls in play have been of the soft hit variety. Tying run now on first, one out.
