From 2nd to 7th in the order? Doesn’t sound like much of a welcome back party to me. If I were Yadi I’d be glaring at Munoz in the dugout.
Not an good beginning 2-0 Dodgers as Freese doubles in while Ozuna lets the ball play him so Freese goes to third. 30 pitches and counting for Gomber.
Maybe 2 squirrels, NJ. Wouldn’t that be a dandy sight…..tandem Rally Squirrels galavanting around the field in unison……how could you lose! Well, the Dodgers race out to a 4-1 advantage….no surprise there. When Team C recently spanked Team D in Team D’s own park and both Team C and Team D are equally talented, one would expect Team D to inflict some serious damage on the scoreboard to Team C in the very next head to head series in Team C’s park.
I think I’ve got my fill of Mr. Gomber on this fine late summer evening. How about Weaver? I think BobbyReed’s pitch tippage advice hopefully has Weaver’s floundering ship righted.
Here’s what I’m hoping gets our guys going tonight. On sale at your local St Louis metro area Schnucks supermarket! But sold out promptly within hours. I did get some, and it’s very tasty. Let’s hope they have some in the dugout to help make up that 4 run deficit!
And here comes the hook to snare Gomber, who goes 3 innings lame, yielding a robust 5 earned runs on 9 hard hits. And he also bares responsibility for the two Dodger base runners who presently occupy 1st and 2nd base…..looks like Ross is being summoned from the pen.
And the Dodgers do indeed score those two runners, so we can mercifully close the book on Gomber for the evening. The Dodgers get 4 in the 4th and lead it 8-1 as we move on to the Cardinal 4th.
Got home turned on the game and saw the Cards were trailing 4-1. Alright, that sucks but not out of the game. Got busy making dinner. Just looked at the score and its 8-1. Netflix night for me. See you guys later.
Have a little faith, BlackHills!!! To be honest, the wifey has been nagging me for the last few minutes to go watch…..do I dare say it….Big Brother with her at the top of the hour. Nine times out of ten I tell her to “get real”, but with the score 8-1 Bad Guys, she just may sway me her way.
Bader didn’t have a snowball’s chance in that at bat. Kershaw has our hitters eating from the Palm of his glove….and just as I say that Ross pokes a homer!! Hold your horses BB ( that’s Big Brother to the layman)….hold your horses!
And just like that 2 singles and a Freese miscues loads the sacks with Birds….just 1 out with Ozuna strolling dishward….oh for a long one here! Marcell blisters a base hit to left!….in comes Carpenter to make it 8-3 and the bases will remain fully occupied! DeJong sac fly to center cuts the Dodger lead in half…2 down. Gyorko was up 3-0 in the count, but 2 pitches later he lines one with authority to left but caught. 8-4.
