September 9, 2018 at 3:02 pm #68837What happened w/Carp and Shildt? AtBat just says “ejected.” I presume arguing balls/strikes? At least we got the win, and Brewers currently behind by one in the 6th, but up with bases loaded.
September 9, 2018 at 3:07 pm #68838Mixed feelings…..tears come forth thinking of the super job Jon did describing today’s action…
thanks JJ!! Very disappointed our Birds didn’t belt these bums by at least 9 runs today!September 9, 2018 at 3:42 pm #68839I guess there really is just one question remaining that begs to be answered after today’s 5-2 triumph in Detroit…..was today’s Rally Squirrel the same Rally Squirrel that ran onto the field on October 5th, 2011 during the Cards-Phils playoff game in St. Louis??? And if so, how in blazes did he travel safely such a vast distance? I would think a DNA test should answer this.

ParticipantA happy flight indeed. Catch the squirrel and turn it loose as needed.
September 9, 2018 at 3:49 pm #68841Gant has been sneaky solid for the Cards this season.Underrated pitcher who has saved the Cards bacon quite often this year as a starter and out of the bullpen.Kelly finally gets a chance and foes well.Good win.Nice to not have any 9th inning drama.
September 9, 2018 at 4:57 pm #68843Indeed, Bw……without the G & G boys( that’s Gant & Gomber to the laymen), we’d be in Pittsburgh territory right now as far as the standings are concerned.
Yeah NJ, turn him loose and that varmint will find you in crunch time. You wonder just what trek the Rally Squirrel took from St. Louis to Detroit? Did he follow the main roads or take the back country roads? I’d say it took him a good 5 months if he traversed the back road route….risking attack from rogue dogs and little cubbie bears.
