My goodness, is O’Neill trying to single-handedly give the game away in one inning? Pull your head out man.

What the heck is going on with O’Neill? Is he so jacked up on roids he can’t think straight? He needs to be taken out of the game immediately.

Nighty nite stlcard25…..I think NJ hit the sack too….looks like it’s you and me, Euro….Grandal reaches on a lazy pop into short right that O’Neill lost in the lights and Wong couldn’t reach…near collision there! Now Taylor reaches on another lazy fly to right that O’Neill got a second late start on….bases juiced….Ponce should be out of this inning….and now Poncedeleon grazes Puig on the hand with a pitch and LA will grab a 1-0 advantage. Ryu is K victim #5 and the ever dangerous Justin Turner strolls center stage. Poncedeleon has fired 4 dozen pitches now as Yadi is totally caught off guard with an offspeed high offering….how did Yadi catch that! Yadi is lucky not to throw his back way out of whack on a play like that….seeing that Pena must have been reaching for his catching garb. Turner flies out to O’Neill….no! Bader flashes just in front of him to snatch it away and again the Cardinals just barely avoid a major collision and these young outfielders need a titch more tutorledge in how to stay alive while playing the outfield. 1-0 Dodgers after 2.

They have a 3 men bench. They can’t take O’Neill out.

Bader slaps a leadoff grounder in between 1st & 2nd and out into right field for a hit. Wong grounds it to 2nd and the Dodgers will only get the lead runner as Wong reaches 1st on the fielders choice. Ponce bunts Wong over to 2nd to give Jose an opportunity to knot this affair up. Jose drills a base hit to center and Wong is going race around and score the tying run!! Yadi tattoos a drive deep to right-center…back near the wall!!…and into the seats for a 2 run homer!! #16 for Yadisimo and the Birds suddenly find themselves perched on a 3-1 lead!!

Cards with the nice rebound, now up 3-1. They were fortunate to give up just one run in the O’Neill debacle inning, but where they were even luckier is that Wong and Bader didn’t get season-ending injuries.

Credit to Poncedeleon he bounces back after throwing a so many pitches due to O’Neill’s brain farts with a nice inning.

Not to get ahead of ourselves but this could end up being an extremely prosperous evening with some of our playoff competitors finding themselves on the short end of the stick vs lesser opponents…..cubs lost to Detroit 2-1 and San Diego edged Colorado 4-3, while the Brewers are losing in the 9th to Cincy 8-7……all could be frustrating one run setbacks….sweet! All we have to do is to do our part and WIN!!

They sure are, NJ. When DeJong came off his injury he really cut down on his strikeouts for what seemed like quite awhile. Lately though it’s business as usual in the K department for the young man. If he wants to reach that next level of success he’s going to have to learn how to keep the ball in play more often.

Leadoff walk by Ponce. Who will piggyback him tonight?

Boy have the Pirates seen their ship take on water since they were active participants at the trade deadline. 9 1/2 games back now and no life jackets in sight.

Poncedeleon is a bulldog! Well I guess he proved that already last year in a big way by coming back from that horrific head injury. He CAN get out of this mess!

I don’t think he’s a starter but I like Ponce and the fire he brings.

Yes! Ponce does indeed survive the 4th without a scoring blemish….still 3-1 Cards heading to the 5th.
