The Cards have not lost a game by more than one run this month. Even in their most poorly played games, they’re competitive right to the last out. The Brewers’ desperation move paid off for them, just barely.
Unfortunately for them, I think they’re toast. Anything can happen, but the luck of the bullpen and the lack of starting pitching is catching up to them and it’s about to get worse.
My fear now is that regardless of how we end the season the fo will view it as that we don’t need to make any real changes to the roster and just the normal tinker, like a middle of the road bat that then never really does anything and some bullpen help that spends most of the year on the dl…
Well we still need an impact bat and maybe a guy or two that can lock down a couple of infield positions, right now we’re shuffling the lineup every so often…maybe find another starting pitcher, Reyes is a big unknown and besides that we have only like a few other starters that have pitched terribly much so the need is still there imho, that and figure out the OF logjam with what we do with Ozuna and Fowler…
