During this 10-1 stretch, Carpenter has been 6 of 51, but with four home runs. Feast or famine. Molina hasn’t had a hit in three games. The most productive thing he has done was striking out and getting to first—to begin a three-run rally. What a way to start a rally!
Now in the Wild Card by a half game. Have to win tomorrow to keep it. Four behind the Cubs. Milwaukee is 4.5 behind the Cubs. We are a half game behind Philly.
The #stlcards opened August in 4th place. They opened July in 3rd. Same for June. The last time they were in 2nd place prior to now was May 27 – 84 games ago.
Lost in all the good play lately… Carpenter is 0 for his last 22. The Cards have been winning despite him being ice cold, and really not doing much besides hit homers during this winning stretch.
It wasn’t lost on me. He just kept getting credit by Dan for his on base streak.
We need him to get back to his MVP form. We need him to keep the heat on and get us to the playoffs. We can’t do it without his bat.
