Even though last night’s game was a bit of a clunker, the team fought hard and nearly pulled it off. Ross was solid in relief and Cecil and Mayers didn’t give up any runs either. So there were a few positives.

Jack has pitched well against the Brew Crew this year but has been snake bitten with the lack of offense. Hopefully he spins another gem and the bats break out to move us ever closer to a playoff spot. This is definitely a big series for that.

i dont think last night was a slunker…even Weaver did admirably to limit the damage for the most part

the Carp drop at 1st was stupid…but the Wong error was a tough one, teams lose games they play well in and win games they play poor in…errors happen and sometimes they cost the game…but the game wasnt terrible, it is baseball

No team wins every game and the best defensive teams make mistakes

the bar for the Cardinals having an acceptable team shouldnt be that they win every game or it is a disappointment…that is just unfair to the concept of baseball…this isnt college football

the team played a pretty good game last night…the normal errors and parts of baseball happen and last night they cost us…but a player isnt terrible because they dont get the RBI to win the game…and a team isnt bad because they lose a game…even if it may have been because of a few errors

we took 3 of 4 against another team…that is still ab ig deal…and the 4th game we had a chance that a single could have tied it…to me that shows that despite the errors or whatever that the team played and was playing well

not to mention the job of the pen once again…and even through the audible “boo’s” that Cecil got he had a good inning

Will be a different look brewers lineup. Moose @ 3B, Schoop @ SS, Shaw @ 2B and Thames in RF.

Hicks, Hudson and Shreve on 3days rest; Norris and Ponce on one day.

    The A Team lineup tonight.

Tonight’s lineup is about as good as we can put on the field right now. This will be a good test against a good team.

Three errors will get you beat. We won 3-2 if only earned runs were counted. How much did Carpenter’s injury affect his ability on defense? Could that be why he missed the ball?

    This is our best lineup.

I doubt it was the injury. He was HBP on the right hand and dropped the ball with his left/glove hand. Maybe he just didn’t see it well or lost concentration.

Just turned the game on to see the dinger by Gyorko. Jack doesn’t seem to be quite as sharp tonight but he’s getting by OK. Let’s just keep increasing the lead, shall we?

Lost a bit in the recent run… Carpenter has been cold lately. Dan said he was 0 for his last 12, and he hadn’t been hitting for much of an average for a few games before that.

Nice inning by Dakota there. 3 ground balls to keep the 3-0 lead.

I do hate relievers who give up walks.

The Cards get two back in the bottom of the 8th. Chance to close it out here and move within a half game of the wild card.

Good win tonight after some sloppy plays last night. Can’t let the occasional bad game turn into a trend, as was the case earlier in the season. Wong was very good tonight.
