It was a close play, and a huge call. I’m quite sure if West had called it a homer on the field, it would have stood. A shame for Houston if they go on to lose the game.

If these players who go into their dugout and smash things up in disgust could only see what royal jackasses they come across as, they would never ever do it again. The only young sports personality that I have ever seen who could issue animated fits of rage and then come across as amusing doing it, was tennis great John McEnroe. Now baseball managers who throw tizzys, do not come across as obnoxious. Matter of fact, the older the manager, the more fun they are to watch….see Earl Weaver and Leo Durocher from back in the day.
The Red Sox eliminate the defending champion Astros by winning three straight in Houston to take the ALCS four games to one. In the clincher, David Price defeated Justin Verlander, in a reverse of their individual post-season history.
MIL vs BOS would be interesting. The city of Milwaukee stole the Braves away from Boston and that was probably a good time for the RedSox.
A LAD-BOS WS would leave me rooting for neither because I dislike them both very much. Milwaukee needs some hoopla. Outside of the close-by Packers, the folks there have little else. Marquette basketball and the Bucks and no NHL. Screw LA.
I would love to see the Crew win this game tonight…..but it just is not going to happen. Buehler bests the Brewers in this battle…i’ll call it 6-3 Dodgers with Machado having a very big night.
Hader coming in to start the 3rd inning, down by just one run, seems like an overreaction by Counsell to me. It’s too early to force Roberts’ hand on anything, although he just took Pederson out in favor of Hernandez. It seems too early and the Dodgers certainly don’t need to panic with the lead. Seems like the higher leverage moments are most certainly yet to come.
