So the Cubs can clinch the division in St. Louis and knock us out of wild card contention at the same time? Wow, what a crappy week this will be.
On the other hand, if we sweep them and somehow win the wild card how sweet will it be.
I don’t get what you are seeing new. All eight position players in tonight’s lineup lead the team in starts at their respective positions this year. They are playing the vets in the big game.
Its a weak lineup because half of them are having bad years. Once they rebound somewhat next year, along with Stanton in the middle of the lineup, we should be in high cotton.

Well, we already know we have poor defense, poor situational hitting, poor base running, and an abysmal bullpen. Then give up 4 runs in the 1st, and prospects for winning this one are extremely low. Cubs will be celebrating on our turf. Next year seems like a loooong way off.

Matheny has a bad problem of leaving starters in games too long. VEB did a analysis of this just a week ago. Looks like Cubs will be breaking out the champagne tonight.
