Jack Flaherty (0-1, 6.08) vs. RHP Jackson Stephens (2-0, 2.38) 6:10 p.m. FOX Sports Midwest

The Cards are 7-9 vs. Cincinnati this season. The Reds’ overall record is just 66-84 and St. Louis is just one of four opponents they have a winning mark against.

Rain here in southern Indiana this morning. Looks like its heading towards Cincinnati so there’s a chance this game is delayed tonight.

I’m glad he’s finally moved DeJong down. He’s been rough looking lately.

We will now have 12 pitchers in the bullpen and maybe 3 that I trust in any sort of close game.

Have not been impressed with Flaherty at all since his call up and he already out of the game in 3rd inning tonight.

Nicasio pulled for Lyons, who gets the final two outs.

Cubs won their seventh in a row tonight. Brewers also won.

An impression that I got while watching this game is that catcher is the missing link for the Reds’ reconstruction.

So we all win, we don’t make up any ground, and we’re one game closer to being at home and watching the playoffs…

The season effectively ended Sunday, unless we want to have fun being spoilers for either the Brewers or the Cubs.

The Reds have Tyler Stephenson, a 1st round catcher, that was drafted in the first round in the minors. I don’t think they’d have interest in Carson Kelly for Nick Senzel, but maybe we can try. They still have Devin Mesoraco too to supplement Tucker Barnhart next year.
