I do not know any way to assess that number. Even if you looked at birth locations from every minor leaguer, there are guys like Mercado who are from the US (Florida), but whose families came from outside the US (Colombia). He played for Colombia in the WBC and I would guess have been on the World roster if invited to the Futures Game.
