Yeah, because direct quotes that are made public from actual Cardinal players on his abilities and character are always going to be positive quotes when the player knows that he’s going to be publicly named. No current or former Cardinal player who possesses even a modicum of tact and grace is going to publicly state, “Yeah, he’s lousy and I wouldn’t want to play for the guy”…It’s my view that many current and former Cardinals who played for him, not only view him as a lousy manager, but also judge his character to be highly suspect or, at the very least, marginal. And those players are entirely willing to voice that view so long as they aren’t named. I’m entirely certain that he has a lousy reputation among many players around the league and that’s one of the many reasons that he’ll never again manage a Big League baseball team when he’s sent packing from StL.
