Ownership has already proven its not going to spend big money. We dont have great talent coming up to save us. Keeping marmol is just another indicator they are fine losing.
willie, I think you just outlined why they are bringing Marmol back. Ownership isn’t going to spend and we don’t have enough talent to be a contender. I think they want the new manager to come in when the team is ready to win or at least they want Marmol’s contract to expire. I mean come on this is the Cardinals we are talking about. I am surprised they haven’t organized a car wash outside Busch stadium to help raise a little extra dough.
While I was not surprised they brought Marmol back for 2026 I am also confident that 2026 will be his last year as Cardinal manager. I don’t think Bloom will give him an extension and we will have a new skipper for the 2027 season, assuming it gets played.
