I don’t know how many more games we would win but having more high end bullpen depth would help eliminate some of those situations when Ollie has to bring in the “B” team during a tight game because the “A” team is not available.
Trading 2+ years of Carlson for 2 months of a reliever seems silly on the surface but the truth is that Carlson’s value is almost zero and I think the Cardinals like the idea of not paying his arb 2 and arb 3 years. It is amazing how cost conscious they are being with this deadline. They must really feel that their revenue forecast is in the dumpster.
