Maybe it is an Ozzie Smith/TLR type situation. Only it would be more the FO than Ollie. Maybe he thinks they promised him the shortstop job. Lack of information will cause people to speculate, what else can one do?
It seems like he would have recovered fully from surgery by now. Including regaining strength. If the surgery was unsuccessful, or if he reinjured it, that would be known before now and it would have been re-repaired by now and he would be recovering from surgery again. But that does not seem to be the case.
