Bottom line is this:
1) If the Cardinals are in contention next year at the trade deadline he will stay.
2) If the Cardinals are not in contention next year at the trade deadline he will be dealt.
3) If he stays (see #1 above) and he has had a good year he will get an extension.
4) If he stays (see #1 above) and has another so-so year he will not get an extension.
