The pen is supposed to finish out a game, not pitch half of it. But yeah, it stunk. So did everything else.
Years of low spending and spending poorly when we do along with a couple of franchise destroying trades have finally come home to roost!
All true, but it seems like player development is probably dysfunctional also.
There is a whole philosophy, which Schildt ran afoul of. That philosophy is at the root of it. Its a top down problem.
