The Cardinals are 17-1 against Arizona, Colorado, Pittsburg, and Florida. The one loss was to Arizona. Those are without question the worst teams in MLB.
They are 18-34 against the rest of the schedule. Which with or without injuries is very poor and noncompetitive. This is more to do with how this team has been constructed not just this season but for several now.
You can blame drafting but I don’t. This has been a front office failure that has been developing for several seasons and it didn’t just show up this year. Many, myself included, said they were making a mistake after the Arenado and Fowler deals, when they didn’t continue to fillout the roster and replenish the AAA roster. Bottomline, this has been mismanagement and it’s time to change course. Those that created this mess cannot be trusted to fix it.
