The St. Louis Cardinals placed right-handed reliever Matt Pushard on the 15-day injured list. He has been replaced by Gordon Graceffo. Other Tuesday transactions affect Ian Bedell and Hunter Dobbins.
On Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals placed right-handed reliever Matt Pushard on the 15-day injured list due to right knee patellar tendinitis.
The 28-year-old struggled in his St. Louis and MLB debut on Sunday, allowing three runs in the eighth inning. It helped turned a close game into a home loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
Pushard, a December Rule 5 pick from Miami, was replaced on the active roster and in the bullpen by Memphis’ Gordon Graceffo, who probably should have made the team out of camp, anyway. In his 2026 debut with the Redbirds, the right-hander tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings and collected a save .
Replacing Graceffo on the Triple-A active roster is reliever Ian Bedell, who opened the season on Memphis’ Development List.
In another transaction, the Cardinals sent right-handed starting pitcher Hunter Dobbins to Memphis on a rehab assignment that can last up to 30 days.
