Cardinals Minor League Spring Training Notebook: 03/18

Following are the highlights from the third day of St. Louis Cardinals minor league games in spring 2011, on Friday, March 18. After the 1-2-1 day, the Cardinals system is a combined 4-5-3 this spring.

Today’s photo is of Player of the Day Tyler Henley, who was on base four times.

On Saturday, the Cardinals’ top two teams will not play due to the major league split squad games. Quad Cities is being divided into two squads. Those clubs plus Palm Beach remain at home in Jupiter but move to the Marlins’ side of the complex to take on their Florida counterparts. As he has been doing the last few seasons, Cardinals farm director John Vuch is sharing game highlights with this site and several others with interest in Cardinals prospects. As always, the raw data is his, but the comments mine.
