The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-2 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis RF Zach Levenson, hit two singles, a double, a homer, drove in five and scored three runs. Other standouts include Trey Paige, Andy Yerzy, Cade McGee, Braden Davis, Brian Holiday, Andrew Williamson and Owen Henne.

The Triple-A Redbirds routed the Bulls by a 12-6 score at AutoZone Park on Friday.
Starter Jared Shuster pitched three innings, gave up two runs on two hits, walked three and fanned four. Shuster stepped in when scheduled starter Cooper Hjerpe was scratched for an unknown reason.
Sandro Santana relieved Shuster and surrendered two runs in 1 1/3 innings. Ryan Murphy yielded one unearned run in 1 2/3 innings and earned the win. Skylar Hales relinquished one run in the seventh. Austin Love tossed the final two scoreless innings.
Memphis went up 3-0 in the second inning. Zach Levenson doubled. Noah Mendlinger singled. Trey Paige walked. Levenson scored on a sac fly by Dakota Harris. Andy Yerzy plated Mendlinger and Paige on a single.
Durham scored single runs in the third and the fourth, and three runs in the top of the fifth to take the lead 5-3.
The Redbirds answered with three runs in the home fifth to retake the lead 6-5. Yerzy singled and later scored on a single by Jimmy Crooks. Ramon Mendoza walked. Levenson singled to drive in Crooks and Mendoza.

Memphis put up four runs in the seventh to extend the lead to 10-5. Mendoza singled. Levenson followed with a two-run home run. Mendlinger walked and Trey Paige hit a two-run home run.

The Bulls scored one run in the top of the eighth to cut the lead to 10-6. The Redbirds responded with two final runs in the bottom of the eighth to win the game 12-6. Crooks doubled and later scored on a single by Levenson. Levenson came home on a double by Mendlinger.
The offense scored 12 runs on 16 hits. Levenson was 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs scored. Paige was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Yerzy was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Mendlinger was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Harris was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Crooks was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Mendoza scored two runs.
Harris stole his first base for Memphis. He also made a fielding error.
Memphis is 27-34 in the second half and is 9 games back of the Indianapolis Pirates in the International League.
Saturday’s game: vs Durham, Jurrangelo Cijntje SHP (0-5, 6.14) vs. Jake Woodford RHP (0-2, 5.40) 6:05 CT.
Springfield 4 at Corpus Christi 1
The Double-A Cardinals beat the Hooks by a 4-1 score on Friday.
Starter Braden Davis pitched 5 2/3 innings, gave up one unearned run on five hits, walked two and fanned seven to earn his third win.

Jose Davila relieved Davis and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Jack Findlay tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save.
Springfield went up 3-0 in the top of the second inning. Cade McGee hit a solo home run. Tre Richardson doubled and scored on a double by Jon Jon Gazdar. Chase Heath singled. Gazdar came home on a force out by Luis Pino.
Corpus Christi cut the lead to 3-1 in the home second.
The Cardinals added a fourth and final run in the seventh to win 4-1. McGee singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Ryan Campos singled. McGee came home on a wild pitch.
The Cardinals scored four runs on 12 hits. McGee was 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Heath was 3-for-4.
Deniel Ortiz stole his ninth base. Heath swiped his first bag for Springfield. Gazdar stole his 12th base.
Campos made a throwing error. McGee had a fielding miscue.
Springfield is 41-20 in the second half and is in first place in the Texas League North.
Saturday’s game: at Corpus Christi, Blake Aita RHP (2-3, 5.65) vs. Nolan DeVos RHP (3-1, 2.73) 7:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs lost to the River Bandits by a 6-4 score at Dozer Park on Friday.
Starter Brian Holiday pitched seven innings, gave up two runs, one earned, on three hits, walked one and fanned six.
Zeke Wood relieved Holiday and surrendered one unearned run in the eighth. Nate Dohm relinquished three runs in the ninth and took the loss.
Peoria took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a solo home run by Andrew Williamson.
Quad Cities tied the game in the second.
The Chiefs added a run in the fourth to take the lead 2-1. Caden Ferraro doubled and later scored on a wild pitch.
The River Bandits tied the game again in the sixth, then a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth.
In the home eighth, Peoria added two runs to regain the lead at 4-3. Williamson hit his second solo home run. Yairo Padilla followed with a solo home run.

Quad Cities rallied for three runs in the ninth to win the game 6-4.
The Chiefs scored four runs on six hits. Williamson was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Padilla was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Tristan Bissetta stole his third base.
Ferraro and Sammy Hernandez each made a throwing error. Jalin Flores had two fielding miscues. Holiday picked a runner off first base.
The Chiefs are 30-33 in the second half and are in fifth place in the Midwest League West, 9.5 games back of first place.
Saturday’s game: vs. Quad Cities, Jack Martinez RHP (1-3, 5.46) vs. Tanner Jones RHP (5-6, 4.58) 7:05 CT.
The Low-A Cardinals fell to the Tortugas by the score of 9-4 on Friday.
Starter Payton Graham pitched three innings, gave up five runs on seven hits, walked five and struck out three. Graham took the loss.
Jan Cabrera relieved Graham and surrendered three runs in 4 2/3 innings. Dallis Moran yielded one run in the final 1 1/3 innings.
Daytona took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. They added four runs in the top of the third to lead 5-0.
Palm Beach answered with three runs in the home third to cut the lead to 5-3. Miguel Hernández walked and stole second. Kenly Hunter singled to score Hernández. Hunter stole second base. Owen Henne hit a two-run home run.

The Tortugas extended their lead to 8-3 in the seventh, then made it 9-3 in the top of the ninth.
The Cardinals added one run in the bottom of the ninth to bring the final score to 9-4. Trevor Haskins doubled and later scored on a wild pitch but the rally attempt ended there.
Palm Beach scored four runs on seven hits. Henne was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Matthew Miura was 2-for-3.
Cristofer Lebrón stole his seventh base. Hernández swiped his seventh bag. Hunter stole his first base. Miura was picked off and caught stealing.
Miura made a throwing error.
The Cardinals are 32-32 in the second half and are in second place in the Florida State League East, 5.5 games back of Daytona.
