The St. Louis Cardinals system was 0-2 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, 3B Jacob Buchberger, had two hits in Springfield’s Game 1 loss. Other standouts include Michael Siani, Logan Gragg and Andre Granillo.

The Memphis Redbirds were walloped by the Knights of Charlotte by a 13-3 score at AutoZone Park on Tuesday. In a bullpen game, starter Grant Black pitched 2 1/3 innings, gave up five runs on four hits, struck out three and walked two. Black took the loss.
Ryan Loutos relieved Black and surrendered two runs in two innings. Logan Sawyer relinquished three runs in just 2/3 of an inning. Working in relief, regular starter Gordon Graceffo yielded three runs in two innings. Andre Granillo tossed a scoreless ninth.
Charlotte scored four runs in the top of the first but Memphis cut the lead to 4-2 in the home half. Michael Siani singled and later scored on a double by Ivan Herrera. Herrera came home on a double by Matt Koperniak.
The Knights increased the lead to 5-2 in the top of the third. Again the Redbirds answered, shrinking the lead to 5-3 in the home third. Irving Lopez singled and later crossed the plate on a single by Moises Gomez.
Charlotte added five runs in the fifth and three more in the seventh to win 13-3.
The Redbirds had 10 hits but drew just one walk, going 3-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Siani was 2-for-5 as the only Redbird with multiple hits. Every Redbird in the lineup had one hit except Thomas Saggese.
In the field, Koperniak had an outfield assist at home plate.
The Memphis Redbirds (29-40) are 15.5 games out of first place in the International League West. They have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Wednesday’s games: vs. Charlotte, RHP Adam Kloffenstein (2-0, 2.45 with Memphis) vs. Nick Nastrini RHP (0-2, 5.52) 12:05 CT.
Springfield 1, Arkansas 3 (Division Series Game 1)
The Springfield Cardinals fell to the visiting Arkansas Travelers in Game 1 of the Division Series on Tuesday. Starter Tekoah Roby pitched four innings, gave up two runs on three hits, struck out four and walked one. Roby took the loss.
In his Double-A debut, Max Rajcic surrendered one run in three innings of relief. Logan Gragg tossed the final two scoreless innings.
Arkansas took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added a run in the fourth. Springfield scored one run in the fifth to cut the lead to 2-1. Chandler Redmond singled and later crossed the plate on a single by Errol Robinson.

Arkansas made it 3-1 in the seventh.
The Cardinals threatened in the ninth. With two out and two in scoring position, Victor Scott just missed a potential game-tying double before striking out to end the game.
The Cardinals outhit the visitors, 7-6, but went 1-for-8 with runners in scoring positions and struck out 10 times. Jacob Buchberger was 2-for-4 as the only Cardinal with multiple hits.
Springfield is 0-1 in the Division Series with a day off Wednesday before the final two games away.
Thursday’s game: Game 2 at Arkansas, TBA vs. RHP Blas Castano (1-3, 4.30), 6:35 p.m.
