The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Wednesday. The repeat Player of the Day, Memphis CF Joshua Báez, was 2-for-5 with two home runs for three RBI. Other standouts include Pete Hansen, Colton Ledbetter, Won-Bin Cho, Sammy Hernandez, Tre Richardson and Sebastian Dos Santos.

The Redbirds beat the Storm Chasers by a 5-2 score on Wednesday.
Starter Pete Hansen pitched five innings, gave up one run on five hits, walked one and fanned five.
Matt Svanson relieved Hansen and threw a scoreless sixth for the win. Chris Roycroft hurled a scoreless seventh. Max Rajcic tossed a scoreless eighth. Scott Blewett surrendered one run in the ninth.
Omaha took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. In the sixth, Memphis tied the game at 1-1 on a solo home run by Joshua Báez.
The Redbirds added three runs in the seventh to take the lead at 4-1. Brody Moore singled and advanced to second on a throwing error. Colton Ledbetter plated Moore on a single. Báez hit a two-run home run.

In the eighth, Memphis increased the lead to 5-1. Jeremy Rivas and Moore singled. Ledbetter singled to score Rivas.

The Storm Chasers rallied for one run in the ninth to cut the lead to 5-2.
Memphis scored five runs on 12 hits. Báez was 2-for-5 with three RBI. It was his second consecutive game with two homers. Ledbetter was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Moore was 3-for-4.
Nelson Velázquez stole his fourth base of the season. Ledbetter made two fielding errors.
Memphis is 32-21 on the season and is in second place in the International League.
Thursday’s game: at Omaha, LHP Quinn Mathews (1-3, 5.55) vs. Henry Williams RHP (0-0, 11.12) 6:35 CT.
Springfield vs. Wichita – Off day
Springfield is 20-27 on the season. They are in last place in the Texas League North.

Peoria 6 at Wisconsin 0 (seven innings, game one)
The Chiefs blanked the Timber Rattlers by a 6-0 score in the first game of a road twin bill on Wednesday.
Starter Ty Van Dyke pitched six scoreless innings, allowed two hits, walked five and struck out one to earn his first High-A win.
Nolan Sparks relieved Van Dyke and tossed a scoreless seventh.
Peoria went up 3-0 in the fourth inning. Josh Kross reached on an error. Cade McGee walked. Cameron Nickens singled to score Kross. Won-Bin Cho tripled to plate McGee and Nickens.
The Chiefs added three runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 6-0. Jack Gurevitch hit a solo home run. Jalin Flores singled. McGee followed with a two-run home run.
The Chiefs scored six runs on eight hits. Cho was 2-for-2 with two RBI. McGee had two RBI and scored two runs.
Cho stole his 17th base of the season. José Suarez swiped his fourth bag. Nickens was caught stealing. Christian Martin was picked off and caught stealing.
Peoria 7 at Wisconsin 12 (seven innings, game two)
The Chiefs were pounded by the Timber Rattlers by a 12-7 score in the second game of Wednesday’s twin bill.
Starter Nate Dohm secured just one out, gave up six runs on four hits, walked two and struck out one. Dohm took the loss.
Rubén Menes relieved Dohm and threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Jose Davila surrendered three runs in two innings. Christian Worley yielded three runs in 2/3 of an inning. Jawilme Ramírez collected the final out of the sixth.
Wisconsin put up six runs in the first inning. Peoria scored two runs in the second to cut the lead to 6-2. Tre Richardson and Sammy Hernandez hit solo home runs.

The Chiefs added three runs in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 6-5. Richardson singled and stole second and third. Hernandez doubled to score Richardson. Christian Martin doubled. Jose Cordoba doubled to plate Hernandez and Martin.

The Timber Rattlers answered with three runs in the home fourth to extend the lead to 9-5. The Chiefs put up two runs in the fifth to shrink the lead to 9-7. Luis Pino singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Richardson tripled to plate Pino. Richardson scored on a single by Hernandez.
Wisconsin added to its lead with three runs in the sixth to win 12-7.
The Chiefs scored seven runs on 11 hits. Hernandez was 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Richardson was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Cordoba had two RBI.
Richardson stole two bases. Hernandez swiped his third bag. Jalin Flores stole his sixth base.
Pino made three errors, one throwing and two fielding. Hernandez picked a runner off second base.
Peoria is 22-25 on the season. They are in fifth place in the Midwest League West.

The Class-A Cardinals fell to the Lakeland Flying Tigers by a 7-3 score at Roger Dean Stadium on Wednesday.
Starter Payton Graham pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up three runs on three hits, walked one and struck out three.
Kaden Echeman relieved Graham and secured the final out of the fourth. Jake Shelagowski surrendered four runs in 2 1/3 innings and took the loss. Anthony Watts hurled 1 2/3 scoreless innings in his 2026 Palm Beach debut. Antoni Cuello tossed a scoreless ninth.
Lakeland took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Palm Beach answered with two runs in the bottom of the third. Trevor Haskins doubled and scored on a double by Matthew Miura. Ryan Weingartner walked and stole second base. Miura came home on a sac fly by Ryan Mitchell.
The Flying Tigers put up two runs in the top of the fourth to take a 3-2 lead. The Cardinals responded in the home fourth with a solo home run by Chase Heath to tie the game.
Lakeland scored two runs each in the fifth and seventh to extend the lead to 7-3.
The Cardinals scored three runs on just three hits. The offense was 1-for-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.
Mitchell stole his 11th base of the season. Weingartner swiped his 14th bag.
Shelagowski made a throwing error.
The Cardinals are 25-22 on the season. They are in second place in the Florida State League East.

FCL Cardinals 6 at FCL Astros 7 (nine innings)
The rookie Cardinals were walked off in extra innings by the Astros on Wednesday.
Starter Jan Cabrera pitched 2 2/3 innings, gave up two runs, one earned, on five hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
Yordy Herrera relieved Cabrera and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Owen Rice surrendered one run in two innings. Chris Lopez yielded three runs, two earned, in the eighth. Paulo Asprilla allowed one unearned run in the ninth and took the loss.
The Astros took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Cardinals tied the game in the top of the second. Miguel Hernandez was hit by a pitch and stole second base. Royelny Strop plated Hernandez on a single.
The Astros regained the lead with a run in the home second.
In the fifth, the Cardinals tied the game on a solo home run by Cristofer Lebrón. They took the lead 3-2 in the sixth. Sebastian Dos Santos singled and stole second base. Dos Santos later scored on a sac fly by Andru Arthur.
The Astros again tied the game in the seventh. As the game went into extra innings, the Cardinals put up three runs in the eighth to lead 6-3. Bracewell Taveras started the inning on second base. Paulo Asprilla singled to score Taveras. Dos Santos hit a two-run home run.
In the home half of the eighth, the Astros scored three to retie the game at 6-6.
The Cardinals failed to score in the top of the ninth. The Astros pushed one run across to win in a walk off 7-6.
The Cardinals scored six runs on five hits. Dos Santos was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
Hernandez stole his third base of the season. Lebrón swiped his sixth bag. Dos Santos stole his seventh base.
Anyelo Encarnacion made a throwing error. Rice made an error on a pickoff. Arthur had an outfield assist at home plate.
The Cardinals are 5-12 on the season. They are in last place in the FCL East.
