The St. Louis Cardinals system was 3-3 on Wednesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Memphis 2B José Fermín, who was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Other standouts include Nathan Church, Hancel Rincon, Brody Moore, and Chase Davis.

The Triple-A Redbirds defeated the Bulls in an extra inning rally on Wednesday. Starter Zack Thompson pitched five innings, gave up two runs on five hits, struck out eight and walked two.
Andre Granillo relieved Thompson and threw two scoreless innings of relief. Jacob Bosiokovic hurled two scoreless innings. Connor Thomas tossed a scoreless 10th.
Memphis went up 1-0 in the third inning. Jared Young walked. Victor Scott singled. Jordan Walker singled. Young scored on a sac fly by José Fermín.
Durham posted two runs in the fifth to lead 2-1. The Redbirds tied the game in the sixth on a solo home run by Luken Baker.
The game went into the 10th and Memphis rallied for four runs in the top of the inning. Nick Raposo was the Manfred runner. Raposo came home on a single by Young. Walker singled. Fermín followed with a three-run home run.

Fermín was 3-for-4 with four RBI. Walker was 2-for-5.
On the bases, Scott stole three bases. Fermín swiped two bags. Walker was caught stealing.

Springfield 1, Tulsa 7 (seven innings, Game 1)
The Double-A Cardinals fell to the Drillers in the first game of a twin bill at Hammons Field on Wednesday. Starter Max Rajcic pitched five innings, gave up four runs, two earned, on six hits, struck out seven and walked two. Rajcic took the loss, his fourth.

Keynan Middleton, on a rehab assignment from St. Louis, relieved Rajcic and surrendered one run in the sixth. Andrew Marrero yielded two runs in the seventh.
Tulsa took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Springfield tied the game in the second. Jimmy Crooks, Jacob Buchberger and Noah Mendlinger singled. Crooks came home on a sac fly by Chandler Redmond.
The Drillers broke the tie with three runs in the fourth to lead 4-1. They added one run in the sixth and two in the seventh to widen the lead to 7-1.
The Cardinals scored one run on seven hits. Mendlinger was 3-for-3. Buchberger was 2-for-3. The offense was 1-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.
On defense, Mendlinger made a fielding error. Crooks had a passed ball.
Springfield 3, Tulsa 5 (seven innings, Game 2)
The Cardinals did not prevail in the second game of the twin bill with the Drillers. Stater Edwin Nuñez pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up four runs on four hits, struck out seven and walked three. Nuñez took the loss, his third.
Ryan Shreve relieved Nuñez and surrendered one run in 1 1/3 innings. Benito Garcia tossed a scoreless sixth.
Springfield took an early lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Nathan Church to lead 2-0. Tulsa came back with four runs in the second to go up 4-2.

In the top of the fifth, the Cardinals added a run. Jeremy Rivas singled and stole second base. Church plated Rivas on a single.
The Drillers widened the lead to 5-3 in the home fifth.
The Cardinals scored three runs on six hits. Church was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Bryan Torres was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Matt Lloyd stole his third base of the season. Rivas swiped his 12th bag. On defense, Luis Rodriguez had a passed ball.
Springfield is 23-18 on the season.
Thursday’s games: vs. Tulsa, Ian Bedell RHP (1-1, 5.70) vs. Jared Karros RHP (0-0, 14.73) 7:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs topped the Kernels in a 3-2 contest at Dozer Park on Wednesday. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched six innings, gave up two runs on seven hits, struck out six and walked one.
Gustave Rodriguez threw two scoreless innings of relief. Nathanael Heredia tossed a scoreless ninth.
Cedar Rapids went up 1-0 in the top of the first inning. Peoria tied the game in the home first. Zach Levenson walked. Leonardo Bernal singled. Michael Curialle plated Levenson on a single.
The Kernels regained the lead 2-1 in the top of the fifth. Again, the Chiefs tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Brody Moore singled. Graysen Tarlow singled. Moore came home on a single by Alex ladisernia.
Peoria broke the tie and won in a walk off in the bottom of the ninth. Moore doubled and scored on a single by William Sullivan.

Moore was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. ladisernia was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
On defense, Moore made a throwing error.
Peoria is 14-27 on the season.

The Low-A Cardinals edged the Flying Tigers in a 4-3 road win on Wednesday. Starter Darlin Saladin pitched four innings, gave up one run on one hit, struck out seven and walked four.
Luis Gastelum relieved Saladin and surrendered one run in 2 1/3 innings to earn his second win. Zach Showalter yielded one run in the final 2 2/3 innings.
Lakeland took the lead 1-0 in the third inning. The Beach Birds rallied for three runs in the fourth to lead 3-1. Kade Kretzschmar and Miguel Villarroel singled. Kretzschmar and Villarroel scored on a double by Chase Davis. Davis came home on a double by Brayden Jobert.
The Flying Tigers made it 3-2 in the fifth. Palm Beach added a run in the seventh to make it 4-2. Jobert singled. Trey Paige doubled. Jobert crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
Lakeland cut the lead to 4-3 in the eighth.
The offense scored four runs on 10 hits. Davis was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Jobert was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Kretzschmar was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Lizandro Espinoza was caught stealing. Kretzschmar was picked off second base.
On defense, Johnfrank Salazar was called for interference.
Palm Beach is 24-17 on the season.
Thursday’s game: at Lakeland, LH Ixan Henderson (3-1, 2.66) vs. TBD 5:30 CT.
The Florida Complex League Cardinals lost to the Mets by a 9-6 score on Wednesday. Starter Ronny Oliver pitched 3 1/3 innings, gave up five runs, four earned, on five hits, struck out three and walked four. Oliver took the loss, his first.
Roblin Heredia relieved Oliver and surrendered four runs, two earned, in 2/3 of an inning. Samuel Fabian threw two scoreless innings. Randel Clemente hurled a scoreless eighth. Wilmer Ortega tossed a scoreless eighth.
The Cardinals went up 1-0 in the second inning on a solo home run by Felix Taveras. The Mets quickly tied it in the home second.
The Mets took a commanding lead in the fourth with eight runs scored. The Cardinals cut the lead to 9-3 in the sixth. Yancel Guerrero singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Yaisel Ramos reached on an error. Samil De La Rosa plated Guerrero and Ramos on a single.
The Cardinals added three runs in the seventh to shrink the lead to 9-6. Jose Suarez doubled and scored on a single by Chris Lopez. Guerrero followed with a two-run home run to right field.
The offense scored six runs on 13 hits. Guerrero was 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Taveras was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Suarez was 3-for-5. Jonathan Mejia was 2-for-5. De La Rosa had two RBI.
On the bases, Mejia stole his third base of the season. Guerrero and Ramos each swiped their second bag.
On defense, Justin Guerrero made three fielding errors at third base. Y. Guerrero made two throwing errors. Mejia had a fielding miscue. Ortega made an error on a pickoff.
The Cardinals are 7-7 on the season.
