The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Friday as Palm Beach won a twin bill. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is right-hander Hancel Rincon, who threw six shutout innings for the Beach Birds. Other standouts include Ivan Herrera, Chandler Redmond, and Won-Bin Cho.

The Memphis Redbirds were topped by the Stripers at AutoZone Park on Friday, taking their season-worst fifth consecutive loss. Starter Michael McGreevy pitched 5 2/3 innings, gave up two runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked three.
Grant Black surrendered three runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss. Ryan Loutos tossed 2/3 of a scoreless inning.
Gwinnett went up 1-0 in the second. Memphis quickly tied it in the home half on a solo home run by Jordan Walker, his second at Triple-A.
The inning repeated itself when the Stripers scored one in the top of the third and the Redbirds answered with one in the bottom frame to tie it. Kramer Robertson walked and later scored on a single by Ivan Herrera.
The Stripers added two in the seventh to lead 4-2. Memphis answered with one run in the eighth. Matt Koperniak walked. Herrera doubled. Walker plated Koperniak on a ground out.
Gwinnett made it 5-3 in the top of the ninth. The Redbirds scored one in the bottom of the ninth but the rally fell short. Walks by Taylor Motter, Juniel Querecuto and Errol Robinson loaded the bases. Koperniak’s sac fly scored Motter.
Herrera was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Walker had two RBI.
On the base paths, Robinson was caught stealing. In the field, Walker had an outfield assist at home plate.
Memphis is 24-19 on the season and has dropped to a tie for second place in the International League West with St. Paul.

Springfield 3 at NW Arkansas 5
The Springfield Cardinals fell to the Naturals in a 5-3 road loss on Saturday. Starter Brandon Komar pitched seven innings, gave up three runs on six hits and struck out four. Komar took the loss, his fourth of the season.
Edgar Escobar relieved Komar and surrendered two runs in the eighth.
Springfield took the early lead with one run in the first inning. Mike Antico singled and stole second base. He advanced to third on a balk and scored on a Chandler Redmond single.
NW Arkansas tied it in the second. The Cardinals regained the lead 2-1 in the fourth. Noah Mendlinger walked and later scored on a wild pitch.
The Naturals took the lead again in the home half of the fourth and added two more runs in the eighth to widen the lead to 5-2.
Springfield made it 5-3 in the ninth. Antico singled and later scored on a force out by Pedro Pages but the rally ended there..
Redmond was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Antico was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
On the base paths, Antico and Arquimedes Gamboa each stole their eighth base of the season. Jacob Buchberger swiped his fifth bag.
In the field, Komar picked a runner off first base.
Springfield is 15-22 on the season and is in last place in the Texas League North, 8.5 games back of Arkansas.
Saturday’s game: at NW Arkansas, Wilfredo Pereira RHP (1-2, 3.98) vs. Andrew Hoffman RHP (2-2, 4.41) 6:05 CT.
The Peoria Chiefs were defeated by the Kernels in an 8-4 road loss on Friday. Starter Dionys Rodriguez pitched just 1 2/3 innings, gave up four runs on three hits, struck out two and walked three. Rodriguez took the loss.
Chris Gerard surrendered four runs, all unearned, in 2 1/3 innings of relief. Bryan Pope tossed four scoreless innings.
Cedar Rapids took a 4-0 lead in the second inning. The Kernels then added four more in the fourth, including a steal of home and a two-run blast, to go up 8-0.
Peoria got on the board with one run in the fifth. Jeremy Rivas reached on an error. Jimmy Crooks singled. Rivas came home on a sac fly by Aaron McKeithan.
The Chiefs added three more runs in the eighth. Francisco Hernandez and Victor Scott II singled. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Nathan Church reached on an error asHernandez and Scott II scored. Brody Moore doubled to plate Church.
Church was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Crooks was 2-for-3. Hernandez was 2-for-2.
On the base paths, Rivas was picked off first base. In the field, Tyler Reichenborn made a fielding error. Scott II had an outfield assist at second base.
Peoria is 19-18 on the season and is in fourth place in the Midwest League West. 2.5 games back of Beloit.
Saturday’s game: at Cedar Rapids, Alex Cornwell LHP (3-2, 3.72) vs. Jordan Carr LHP (1-1, 2.25) 6:35 CT.
Palm Beach 4 at St. Lucie 3 (completion of suspended game)
The Palm Beach Cardinals edged the Mets in the suspended game from Thursday. Starter Pete Hansen pitched two scoreless innings, allowed one hit and struck out three.
As the game resumed, Joseph King took over on the mound and surrendered two runs in 4 2/3 innings of relief. Roy Garcia allowed one unearned run in the final 2 1/3 innings and received the win.
The Beach Birds took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Alex ladisernia doubled and scored on a single by Won-Bin Cho.
Palm Beach added to the lead with one run in the fourth on a solo home run by Carlos Linarez. The Mets cut the lead to 2-1 in the fifth and added a second run in the seventh to tie it.
In the top of the eighth, the Cardinals put up two runs to regain the lead at 4-2. Linarez walked and Adanson Cruz doubled. Linarez scored on a single by Brandon Hernandez. Lizandro Espinoza plated Cruz on a single.
In the home half of the eighth the Mets cut the lead to 4-3. Neither team scored in the ninth.
Cho was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Espinoza was 2-for-5 with an RBI.
On the base paths, Joshua Baez and Espinoza stole two bases apiece. ladisernia swiped his sixth bag. Cho stole his 13th base.
In the field, Linarez had a passed ball.
Palm Beach 6 at St. Lucie 0 (seven innings)
The Cardinals blanked the Mets 6-0 in the second game of the day on Friday. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched six scoreless innings, allowed two hits, struck out two and walked one to earn his fifth win of the season.
Chandler Arnold relieved Rincon and tossed the final scoreless inning.
The Beach Birds scored the first of six runs in the second inning. Michael Curialle, Leonardo Bernal, and Won-Bin Cho each drew a walk. Darlin Moquete singled to score Curialle.
Palm Beach made it 2-0 in the third on a solo home run by Alex ladisernia.
In the fifth, the Cardinals put up four runs to increase the lead to 6-0. ladisernia, R.J. Yeager, and Curialle each drew a walk. Leonardo Bernal singled to score ladisernia. Cho plated Yeager on a single. Curialle scored on a sac fly by Moquete. Javier Bolivar walked. Chris Rotondo walked, and Bernal scored.
No Cardinal had multiple hits in the game. Moquete had two RBI.
In the field, Tre Fletcher had an outfield assist at third base.
With six consecutive wins, Palm Beach is 24-13 on the season and is in first place in the FSL East.
