The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-3 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Palm Beach infielder Ryan Weingartner, blasted a three-run home run to highlight a three-walk, four-RBI day. Other standouts include Colton Ledbetter, Joshua Báez, Hunter Hayes, Josh Kross, Won-Bin Cho, Jesús Báez and Jack Martinez.

Memphis Redbirds 3, Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 7
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds dropped the series finale to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at AutoZone Park on Sunday.
Bruce Zimmermann started his ninth game for Memphis. The left-hander pitched five innings and allowed four runs on five hits, one walk, and six strikeouts. The home run ball was an issue as Zimmermann gave up three.
Skylar Hales threw a scoreless sixth inning with a pair of strikeouts in relief of Zimmermann. Luis Gastelum yielded a run in the seventh. Chris Roycroft surrendered two runs in the eighth inning. Hancel Rincon tossed a shutout ninth frame.
The Redbirds struck early with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Joshua Báez crushed his 11th home run of the season, a solo shot.

The Redbirds doubled the lead in the second inning. Nelson Velázquez lined a single. Bligh Madris grounded into a forceout, with Velázquez out at second base. Ramon Mendoza singled to put runners on the corners. Madris scored on a Colton Ledbetter groundout for a 2-0 Redbirds lead.
The Jumbo Shrimp scored two runs apiece in the second and fifth innings to take a 4-2 lead. Jacksonville added a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to extend the lead to 7-2.
Down to their final three outs, Memphis looked to stage a comeback. Ledbetter belted a solo home run, his second of 2026, to bring the Redbirds closer at 7-3.

The Redbirds were unable to rally further.
Memphis scored three runs on nine hits. Ledbetter walked, hit a home run, and tallied two RBI. Báez blasted a solo home run. Velázquez was 2-for-4 with a double. Brody Moore walked and hit a single. The lineup was 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.
On the bases, Bryan Torres was picked off first base. The Redbirds did not steal a base.
Defensively, catcher Leo Bernal made a throwing error.
Memphis is 27-18 on the season after taking just two of six from Jacksonville. The Redbirds hold a one game lead over Louisville in the International League West Division. They are off Monday as they travel to Principal Park in Des Moines, Iowa, for a six-game series with the Iowa Cubs, beginning Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Iowa (CHC). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:38 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals 3 at Tulsa Drillers 9
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals fell to the Drillers in Tulsa in Sunday’s series finale.
Braden Davis made his eighth start for Springfield. The left-hander tossed 2 ⅔ innings and allowed five runs on three hits, five walks, and two strikeouts. Davis took the loss.
Hunter Hayes threw 2 ⅓ scoreless innings with four strikeouts in relief of Davis.

Austin Love surrendered four runs in the sixth. Mason Burns pitched a scoreless seventh to lower his ERA to 1.33. Darlin Saladin struck out two in a shutout eighth.
Tulsa scored one run in the second inning and four in the third to grab a 5-0 lead.
The Cardinals entered the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. Travis Honeyman, Dakota Harris and Noah Mendlinger walked to load the bases. Honeyman crossed home plate on a sacrifice fly from Jon Jon Gazdar. Rainiel Rodriguez grounded into a forceout with Harris coming home to bring the Cardinals within three at 5-2.
Tulsa plated four in the home sixth to extend the lead to 9-2.
Springfield put a small dent in the gap with a run in the seventh. With two outs, Honeyman legged out an infield single and stole second base. Harris ripped a single to score Honeyman.
Springfield was unable to add more in the loss.
The Cardinals scored three runs on four hits, all singles. Gazdar was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Harris walked, singled, scored and drove in a run. Honeyman was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk. Chase Davis recorded a hit. Mendlinger drew three walks.
On the basepaths, Mendlinger swiped his second bag of the season. Honeyman stole his 15th base.
On defense, third baseman Mendlinger was charged with an error on a dropped foul ball. Davis nailed a runner at second base from right field.
Springfield is 16-23 on the season after taking four of six from Tulsa. They reside in last place in the Texas League North Division, eight games back of first place. The Cardinals are off Monday as they travel to Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas, for a six-game set with the Arkansas Travelers, starting Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game: at Arkansas (SEA). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM CT.
Peoria Chiefs 7 at Beloit Sky Carp 9 (10 innings)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs lost an extra-inning contest to the Beloit Sky Carp on the road in Sunday’s series finale.
Blake Aita made his eighth start for Peoria. The right-hander threw five scoreless innings on three hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. The start marked Aita’s second consecutive outing with five scoreless frames.
D.J. Carpenter pitched a shutout sixth inning with a pair of strikeouts in relief of Aita. Bobby Olsen yielded six runs and recorded just two outs for a blown save. Jason Savacool followed with 1 ⅓ scoreless innings. Christian Worley allowed three runs, two earned, across the final 1 ⅓ innings and took the loss.
The Chiefs broke the scoreless tie with a three-run sixth inning.
Christian Martin and Jack Gurevitch singled to put runners at the corners. Josh Kross cranked a three-run home run, his fourth long ball of the season, to put the Chiefs ahead 3-0.
The Chiefs added a run in the seventh. Luis Pino hit his first High-A home run, a solo shot, for a 4-0 lead.
Beloit erupted for six runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 6-4 lead.
Peoria moved within one in the eighth. Jesús Báez crushed his fifth home run of 2026, a solo blast, to bring the Chiefs within one at 6-5.
Down to their last three outs, the Chiefs looked to rally. Won-Bin Cho tied the game on a solo home run, his seventh long ball of the season, to knot the score at six. Cho has already equaled his 2025 home run output.
The game remained tied to force extra innings.
Peoria regained the lead at 7-6 in the top of the 10th inning. Martin began the inning at second base and scored on Gurevitch’s first double with the Chiefs.
Beloit hit a three-run home run in the home 10th to win the game.
The Chiefs scored seven runs on 10 hits. Kross was 3-for-5, including two doubles, a home run, and three RBI. Báez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Pino hit a solo home run. Cho hit a game-tying solo home run. Gurevitch was 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.
The Chiefs did not record a stolen base.
On defense, shortstop Báez committed a fielding error. Catcher Cade McGee was tagged with a passed ball. The Chiefs turned two double plays.
Peoria is 16-22 on the season after winning two of six in Beloit. They reside in last place in the Midwest League West Division, 5.5 games behind first place. The Chiefs are off Monday as they head home to Dozer Park for a six-game series with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, beginning Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Cedar Rapids (MIN). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 AM CT.
Palm Beach Cardinals 6, Daytona Tortugas 2
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals bested the Daytona Tortugas at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Sunday’s series finale.
Jack Martinez started his eighth game for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched 3 ⅓ scoreless innings on three hits, two walks and five strikeouts.
Jovi Gálvez recorded the final two outs of the fourth without a run crossing the plate. Kaden Echeman threw three innings for the third time this season and yielded a run with five strikeouts. The 23-year-old picked up his third win. Yadiel Batista struck out two and allowed a run over the final two innings.
Palm Beach pounced quickly with a three-run bottom of the first inning. In his first at-bat of game two in the rehab assignment, Lars Nootbaar lined a single. Michael Dattalo followed with a single. With two outs, Ryan Weingartner belted a three-run home run, his third long ball of 2026.

Palm Beach plated a run in the fourth. Weingartner walked and moved to second on a Brayden Smith groundout. Alex Birge roped a two-out single to plate Weingartner for a 4-0 lead.
Daytona entered the run column in the fifth to narrow the lead to three at 4-1.
Palm Beach scored two insurance runs in the seventh. Birge singled and Heriberto Caraballo walked to open the frame. Facundo Velásquez advanced the runners on a groundout. Dattalo walked to load the bags with two away. Jonathan Mejía drew a bases-loaded walk to force Birge home. Weingartner drew a second consecutive free pass with the bags loaded to bring Caraballo home and stretch the Palm Beach lead to 6-1.
The Tortugas plated a run in the eighth but never held the lead in the Palm Beach victory.
The Cardinals scored six runs on seven hits. Weingartner drew three walks, scored twice, hit a home run, and notched four RBI. Birge was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Mejía singled, walked, and notched an RBI. Ryan Mitchell hit a triple. Dattalo walked, singled, and scored a run. Nootbaar was 1-for-2 with a run scored and played five innings in left field in the second game of his rehab assignment.
Palm Beach did not record a stolen base.
On defense, third baseman Weingartner committed a fielding error.
Palm Beach is 22-17 on the season after taking five of six from Daytona. They are one game back of Jupiter for first place in the Florida State League East Division. The Cardinals are off Monday as they travel to Clover Park in Port St. Lucie, Florida, for a six-game series with the St. Lucie Mets, starting Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game: at St. Lucie (NYM). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 PM CT.
FCL Cardinals (off day)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were off Sunday, as they prepare for a home contest with the FCL Astros on Monday.
The Cardinals enter the week with momentum following a dominant 9-1 road win in seven innings over the previously undefeated Astros.
The FCL Cardinals are 4-5 on the season.
