The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-0 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, FCL Cardinals infielder Sebastian Dos Santos, drove in the tying run in a two-hit day. Other standouts include Juan Rujano, Giovanni Vargas, Owen Rice and Kenly Hunter.

Memphis Redbirds (off day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off Monday as they headed home to AutoZone Park for a six-game series with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, beginning Tuesday.
The Redbirds are coming off a series split with the Toledo Mud Hens (DET).
Catcher Jimmy Crooks has powered the Memphis lineup and leads the team with 12 home runs and 27 RBI. Crooks has also drawn 24 walks, the most on the team. Blaze Jordan and Joshua Báez have both eclipsed the 20 RBI mark on the year. Jordan received Minor League Co-Player of the Month honors in the organization.

On the mound, left-hander Bruce Zimmermann has thrown the most innings at 35 ⅓ and holds a perfect 4-0 record through seven starts. Zimmermann has also recorded the most strikeouts on the staff at 47. Fellow lefty Brycen Mautz has tossed 30 ⅓ innings with a solid 2.97 ERA and 31 strikeouts.
Memphis is 25-14 on the season. They hold a one game lead over Gwinnett for first place in the International League West Division.

Springfield Cardinals (off day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off Monday as they traveled to ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for a six-game series with the Tulsa Drillers, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals enter play after a series split with Corpus Christi.
Ryan Campos has provided a strong bat from the catching position thus far as he leads the team with a .295 batting average and is tied with Miguel Ugueto for the most hits at 28. Campos has also mashed four home runs and driven in 18. Chase Davis has crushed five home runs, the most on the team, while Jon Jon Gazdar has tallied a team-best 20 RBI.
Switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje has thrown the most innings on the pitching staff at 31 ⅓ and recorded a team-best 36 strikeouts. Right-hander Mason Burns has been dominant out of the bullpen, sporting a tidy 1.65 ERA across 16 ⅓ innings in 11 relief appearances. Burns has the most saves on the Springfield staff with three.
Springfield is 12-21 on the season after the series split with Corpus Christi. The Cardinals reside in last place in the Texas League North Division, eight games behind first place.
Tuesday’s game: at Tulsa (LAD). LHP Braden Davis (0-2, 5.54) vs. RHP Christian Ruebeck (0-0, 0.00) 6:00 PM CT.
Peoria Chiefs (off day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off Monday, as they headed to ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit, Wisconsin, for a six-game series with the Beloit Sky Carp, starting Tuesday.
Peoria enters the week after going 2-4 against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Dozer Park.
Tai Peete has made an immediate impact in his first season with the Cardinals organization. The outfielder leads the club in home runs (5), hits (33), doubles (11), triples (3), and is second on the team in RBI (23). Jalin Flores leads players on the active roster in batting average (.297), RBI (27), and is second in hits (30).
Catcher Rainiel Rodriguez, following a strong start in which he hit .311 with four home runs and drove in 27 runs, earned a call-up to the Springfield Cardinals.

On the mound, Yhoiker Fajardo has been a standout arm. The right-hander has started four games and appeared in six total games. He holds a 1-0 record with a 1.46 ERA across 24 ⅔ innings of work. Fajardo has struck out 34 hitters and has issued just three walks. He earned Minor League Pitcher of the Month honors in the Cardinals organization.

Peoria is 14-18 on the season after taking two of six from Wisconsin. They are tied with Beloit for fourth place in the Midwest League West Division.

Palm Beach Cardinals (off day)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals were off Monday, as they prepared for a six-game series with the Daytona Tortugas at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals will look to regain momentum after a 1-5 series against the Jupiter Hammerheads that caused them to fall into second place in the Florida State League East Division.
The big bat of Jack Gurevitch has propelled the Palm Beach offense with a .274 batting average and a team-best six home runs and 28 RBI. The first baseman’s strong showing earned a callup to the Peoria Chiefs and recognition as Minor League Co-Player of the Month in the St. Louis organization.

Of hitters currently on the roster, Jonathan Mejía leads Palm Beach with five home runs and 21 RBI. Chase Heath has 24 hits, the most on the team following Gurevitch’s call-up.
On the mound, Ty Van Dyke has been stellar through six starts. The right-hander has fired a team-high 29 innings and holds a 1-1 record and a pristine 1.24 ERA. Van Dyke has fanned 31 batters and issued just six free passes. Antoni Cuello and Patrick Galle have each collected two saves, tied for the most on the team. Nelfy Ynfante has thrown nine consecutive shutout innings across four relief appearances to begin his season.
Palm Beach is 17-16 on the season after taking just one of six from Jupiter. They reside in second place in the Florida State League East Division, two games behind Jupiter.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Daytona (CIN). RHP Jacob Odle (1-2, 2.25) vs. TBA. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM CT.
FCL Cardinals 2 at FCL Nationals 1
The Florida Complex League Cardinals won a nail-biter over the FCL Nationals in Monday’s road contest.
Andrew Bolívar started in his season debut for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched 2 ⅔ scoreless innings on one hit, three walks and four strikeouts.
Jarol Baéz yielded a run and struck out three across 2 ⅓ innings in relief of Bolívar. Owen Rice followed and tossed two scoreless frames with three strikeouts. Giovanni Vargas slammed the door with a pair of shutout innings to finish the game and earned his first win of the season and fifth in his career.
The Nationals opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
The Cardinals tied the game in the eighth inning. Kenly Hunter hit a one-out single. Hunter swiped second base and scored on a single from Sebastian Dos Santos to tie the game at one apiece.
The Cardinals gained the lead in the top of the ninth. Cristofer Lebrón reached on a fielding error and moved to second base. Lebrón advanced to third on a Royelny Strop groundout. With two outs, Juan Rujano lined a single to bring Lebrón home and put the Cardinals in front 2-1.
The Cardinals stranded the tying and winning runs on base as Vargas navigated the base running traffic to secure the win.
The FCL Cardinals scored two runs on four hits, all singles. Dos Santos was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Rujano recorded a hit and an RBI. Hunter walked, singled, and scored a run.
On the bases, Lebrón and Dos Santos each stole their first bag of the season. Hunter tallied his third steal. Michael Dattalo and Dos Santos were each picked off first base.
On defense, catcher Rujano was charged with a passed ball.
The FCL Cardinals are 3-2 on the season. They reside in second place in the FCL East Division. The Cardinals will play a home contest with the FCL Astros on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game: vs. FCL Astros. RHP Branneli Franco (0-1, 3.86) vs. TBA. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 AM CT.
