Cardinals Minor League Notebook – March 29, 2026

The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-0 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis first baseman Blaze Jordan, was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Other standouts include Bryan Torres, Max Rajcic and Bruce Zimmermann.

Memphis Redbirds 3 at Gwinnett Stripers 2

On Saturday, the Memphis Redbirds edged the Gwinnett Stripers to improve to 2-0 in the 2026 season.

Bruce Zimmermann started for the Redbirds in his organizational debut. The left-hander threw four innings and allowed one run on three hits, three walks, and five strikeouts.

Right-hander Max Rajcic fired two scoreless frames in relief of Zimmermann and collected the win. Nick Raquet followed and yielded one run in the seventh. Ryan Fernandez fanned a pair in a scoreless eighth. Skylar Hales picked up the save with a shutout ninth.

Gwinnett opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first inning.

Memphis tied the game in the top of the third. Bryan Torres ripped a one-out double and scored on a Joshua Baez groundout.

Memphis grabbed the lead with a two-run sixth inning. Jimmy Crooks led off the frame with a walk and moved to second base on a Leo Bernal single. Blaze Jordan hit a second consecutive single to bring Crooks home and give Memphis a 2-1 lead, with Bernal to third base on the play. Matt Koperniak drove home Bernal via a sacrifice fly for an insurance run and a 3-1 Redbirds lead.

The Redbirds held the Stripers to just 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position in the win.

The Redbirds scored three runs on eight hits. Jordan was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Torres doubled for the lone Memphis extra-base hit and walked. Koperniak singled and notched an RBI. Baez recorded an RBI.

On the bases, Brody Moore swiped second base. Jordan was caught stealing second base.

On defense, catcher Crooks made a throwing error.

The Redbirds are 2-0 on the year. They look to secure the road series sweep with a win on Sunday. Brycen Mautz is slated to start on the mound in his Triple-A debut.
