The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 3-2 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Peoria third baseman Cade McGee, hit two home runs for three RBI. Other standouts: Leo Bernal, Jacob Odle, Brayden Smith, Jesús García, Sebastian Dos Santos, Cristofer Lebrón, Emanuel Luna, Roberth Castillo and Jesús Pérez.

Memphis Redbirds 3, Louisville Bats 11
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds fell to the Louisville Bats at AutoZone Park on Saturday night.
Brycen Mautz started his 11th game for the Redbirds. The left-hander pitched five innings and allowed three runs, all unearned, on five hits, two walks, and five strikeouts.
Max Rajcic surrendered four runs across two innings in relief of Mautz and took the loss. It was the first time Rajcic allowed more than two runs in a game this season. Cade Winquest yielded three runs, two earned, in the eighth. Jared Shuster gave up a run in the ninth.
Memphis opened the scoring with a two-run bottom of the first inning. With two outs, Blaze Jordan walked and scored on Leo Bernal’s seventh home run of the season, a two-run shot.

The Bats grabbed a 3-2 lead in the third.
Memphis tied the game in the home fifth. Bernal lined a two-out double. Bligh Madris walked. Yohel Pozo ripped a double to bring Bernal home.

Louisville tallied two runs apiece in the sixth and seventh innings, three runs in the eighth, and a run in the ninth to jump in front 11-3. Memphis was unable to answer.
The Redbirds scored three runs on nine hits. Bernal was 2-for-5, including a double, a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI. Pozo doubled and drove in a run. Thomas Saggese drew three walks. Madris was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double. The lineup was 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 11 runners on base.
The Redbirds did not steal a base.
On defense, third baseman Jordan made a throwing and fielding error. Second baseman Noah Mendlinger committed a fielding error. Joshua Báez nailed a runner at home plate from center field.
Memphis is 37-25 on the season. The Redbirds will look to secure the series split with a win on Sunday.
Sunday’s game: vs. Louisville. RHP Brandt Thompson (0-0, 4.50 at Triple-A) vs. LHP Nate Peterson. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals at Frisco RoughRiders (postponed)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals’ Saturday contest with the RoughRiders in Frisco was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday.
Springfield needs to win one game to split the series and can clinch the series win with a Sunday sweep.
Springfield is 25-29 on the season.
Sunday’s games: at Frisco. Game One: LHP Braden Davis (0-3, 5.31) vs. RHP Austin Bergner (0-1, 13.50) 3:30 PM CT. Game Two: RHP Chen-Wei Lin (1-2, 4.62) vs. LHP Dylan MacLean (4-0, 4.15). Start time will follow shortly after game one’s conclusion.
Peoria Chiefs 5, Beloit Sky Carp 0
The High-A Peoria Chiefs blanked the Beloit Sky Carp at Dozer Park on Saturday for their fifth consecutive win.
Jacob Odle made his second start for Peoria. In his Dozer Park debut, the right-hander pitched 5 ⅔ innings of scoreless baseball on two hits, two walks, and eight strikeouts. Odle earned his first High-A win and holds a 0.96 ERA through two starts with the Chiefs.

Jawilme Ramírez struck out two across 1 ⅓ shutout frames in relief of Odle. Jason Savacool fanned two in a scoreless eighth. Bobby Olsen finished the game with a shutout ninth inning.
The Chiefs struck quickly in the bottom of the first with Cade McGee’s sixth home run of the year, a solo shot.

The Chiefs increased the lead with a three-run third frame. Tre Richardson III struck out, but reached base on a wild pitch. Richardson III moved to second on a wild pitch and took third via a disengagement violation. Jesús Báez singled home Richardson III. McGee followed with his second home run of the game, a two-run blast, to extend the lead to 4-0.

Peoria added a run in the fifth. Báez led off the inning with his 10th double, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on the play via a fielding error for a 5-0 Chiefs lead.

The Chiefs held Beloit to just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position in the shutout win.
Peoria scored five runs on seven hits. McGee was 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs, and three RBI. Báez went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, two runs scored, and an RBI. Jalin Flores, Josh Kross, and Won-Bin Cho each collected a single.
On the bases, Cho stole his 20th bag of the campaign.
The Chiefs did not commit an error.
Peoria is 29-27 on the season. They will look to seal the series sweep on Sunday.

Palm Beach Cardinals 3 at Tampa Tarpons 4
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals dropped a close contest at the Tampa Tarpons on Saturday.
Jack Martinez made his 11th start for the Cardinals. The right-hander threw 4 ⅓ innings and allowed three runs on one hit, four walks and nine strikeouts. Martinez took the loss.
Hunter Kublick yielded a run and struck out three over 1 ⅓ innings in relief of Martinez. Jesús García fired two shutout innings with three strikeouts.
Tampa jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two runs apiece in the second and fifth innings.
Palm Beach trimmed the lead in half in the top of the sixth. Johnfrank Salazar lined a double. Facundo Velásquez followed with a walk. Ryan Mitchell connected for a single to score Salazar with Velásquez to second base. Velásquez advanced to third on a Ryan Weingartner flyout. Velásquez scored the second Cardinals run on a steal of home plate, as Mitchell swiped second base for a successful double steal and a 4-2 score.
Palm Beach moved within a run in the seventh as Brayden Smith rocketed his third home run of the year, a solo shot.
Palm Beach was unable to rally further in the loss.
The Cardinals scored three runs on four hits. Mitchell was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Smith hit a solo home run. Salazar walked, doubled, and scored.
On the bases, Mitchell stole his 14th bag. Velásquez swiped home plate on a double steal with Mitchell for his second steal with Palm Beach.
Palm Beach is 30-26 on the season. They will look to take the series finale on Sunday.

The Florida Complex League Cardinals held off a late rally from the FCL Mets to win a high-scoring game on Saturday.
Earle Zulueta started his third game in his fifth appearance with the Cardinals. The right-hander tossed four innings and allowed three runs on six hits, two walks, and four strikeouts.
Gerson Moreno threw a scoreless fifth inning with a pair of strikeouts to collect the win in his first rehab appearance, as he works to rejoin the Memphis Redbirds. Andrew Bolívar yielded two runs across two innings. Lefty Yordy Herrera gave up one run in the eighth inning. Alejandro Lóaiza allowed two runs in the ninth but held on to finish the game.
The Cardinals scored first with a run in the home second inning. Royelny Strop walked and moved to second on a pickoff error. Strop stole third base and came home on a throwing error from the catcher.
The Mets tied the game with a run in the top of the third.
The Cardinals responded with seven runs in the home half of the frame. Andru Arthur and Kenly Hunter began the inning with back-to-back walks. Sebastian Dos Santos hit his second triple of 2026 to score Arthur and Hunter, with Dos Santos also home on the play via a throwing error.
Cristofer Lebrón followed with his fifth home run of the year, a solo blast, for the fifth Cardinals run.
With one away, Yaxson Lucena and Strop took back-to-back free passes. After a pitching change, Bracewell Taveras walked to load the bases. Lucena crossed home plate on a Paulo Asprilla sacrifice fly. In his second plate appearance of the frame, Arthur doubled home Strop, with Taveras to third base. Taveras touched home plate on a wild pitch to stretch the lead to 8-1.
The Mets notched two runs in the fourth to chip into the deficit at 8-3.
The Cardinals responded with three runs in the home fourth. Lebrón walked and stole second base. Miguel Hernández lined a single to bring Lebrón home. Hernández swiped second base. Strop and Taveras drew walks to load the bags. Asprilla grounded a single to plate Hernández and Strop for an 11-3 lead.
The Cardinals added a run in the fifth. Dos Santos, Hernández, and Lucena walked to load the bases. Strop was hit by a pitch to force Dos Santos home to increase the lead to 12-3.
The Mets scored twice in the sixth, once in the eighth, and twice in the ninth to move the score to 12-8, but were unable to take the lead.
The FCL Cardinals scored 12 runs on six hits. Asprilla singled and drove in a team-high three runs. Lebrón was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI. Dos Santos walked, tripled, scored two runs, and two RBI. Hernández walked, singled, scored a run, and drove in a run. Strop drew three walks, scored three runs, and notched an RBI. Arthur walked, doubled, scored a run, and drove in a run. The lineup drew 12 total walks.
On the bases, Lebrón stole his eighth bag. Strop swiped his fifth base.
On defense, third baseman Lebrón committed a fielding error. Lucena nailed a runner at third base from center field. Hunter threw a runner out at home from right field. Catcher Asprilla was charged with a passed ball. The Cardinals turned four double plays.
The FCL Cardinals are 8-16 on the season. They are off Sunday and will play a home contest with the FCL Astros on Monday.
Monday’s game: vs. FCL Astros. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 AM CT.
DSL Cardinals 11, DSL Nationals 5 (Seven innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals bested the DSL Nationals in Saturday’s seven-inning home contest.
Jose Vega started in his Cardinals debut. The right-hander pitched 3 ⅓ scoreless innings on two hits, two walks, and three strikeouts.
Javier Martínez yielded a run across 1 ⅓ innings in relief of Vega. Beiker Rodríguez gave up two unearned runs with two strikeouts in two innings and picked up his first win of the season. Domingo Mejía allowed two runs, one earned, but secured the final out of the game.
The Cardinals pounced early with a two-run bottom of the first inning. Yeferson Portolatin walked and scored on Emanuel Luna’s second career home run, a two-run shot.
The Cardinals pulled away with a six-run third. With two outs, Luna crushed his second home run of the game, a solo blast, for a 3-0 lead. Sebastian Rojas followed with a double. Luis Estrella reached base on a throwing error, with Rojas home on the play. Michael Cordero took a walk. Jesús Pérez hit a ground-rule double to plate Estrella. Roberth Castillo belted his first professional home run, a three-run rocket, to empty the bases and extend the lead to 8-0.
The Cardinals added three runs in the fourth. With two away, Luna was hit by a pitch. Rojas walked. The runners advanced on a balk. Estrella drew a free pass to load the bases. Cordero was hit by a pitch to force Luna home. Pérez was hit by a pitch, the second hit batsman in a row, to bring Rojas home. Castillo drew a walk to score Estrella and stretch the lead to 11-0.
The Nationals scored five runs across the final three innings but couldn’t overcome the large Cardinals lead.
The DSL Cardinals scored 11 runs on seven hits. Luna was 2-for-3, including two home runs, three runs scored, and three RBI. Pérez went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBI. Castillo walked, hit a home run, and tallied four RBI. Cordero walked, scored a run, and notched an RBI. Rojas walked, doubled, and scored twice.
The Cardinals did not steal a base.
On defense, shortstop Castillo, center fielder Luna, and right fielder Estrella each made a throwing error. First baseman Christian Sáez committed a fielding error. Pitcher Vega picked a runner off first base.
The DSL Cardinals are 4-1 on the season. They are off Sunday and will play a road contest with the DSL Nationals on Monday.
