The St. Louis Cardinals system was 4-2 on Friday. The Player of the Day is Memphis LF Mike Antico, who was 3-for-4 with two RBI in the Memphis win over Indianapolis. Other standouts include Quinn Mathews, Brody Moore, Ixan Henderson, Jeremy Rivas, Tre Richardson, and Yaxson Lucena.

The Triple-A Redbirds were the winners over the Indians at AutoZone Park on Friday. Starter Quinn Mathews pitched five innings, gave up one unearned run on five hits, and fanned six to earn his first win.
Gordon Graceffo relieved Mathews and threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings. Chris Roycroft tossed the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his third save.
Indianapolis scored the first run in the second inning to lead 1-0. Memphis came back to score four runs in the fourth to take the lead 4-1. Thomas Saggese walked. Jimmy Crooks singled. Gavin Collins singled to score Saggese. Brody Moore plated Crooks on a single. Mike Antico drove in Collins and Moore on a single.

The Memphis offense scored four runs on 11 hits. Antico was 3-for-4 with two RBI. Moore was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Crooks was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Antico was picked off second base. On defense, Saggese made a fielding error.
Memphis is 33-26 on the season and is tied for second place with Indianapolis in the International League West, 2 games back of Nashville and 9 games back of IL leader Lehigh Valley.

The Double-A Cardinals beat the RoughRiders by the score of 4-3 on Friday. Starter Ixan Henderson pitched 5 2/3 innings, gave up one unearned run on four hits, fanned nine and walked three.

Zane Mills relieved Henderson and surrendered two runs, one earned, in 1 2/3 innings. Ricardo Velez tossed the final 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.
Frisco went up 1-0 in the first inning. Springfield scored two runs in the fifth to lead 2-1. Carlos Linarez walked. Darlin Moquete singled, and Linarez scored on a fielding error that sent Moquete to third. Noah Mendlinger was hit by a pitch. Jeremy Rivas singled to plate Moquete.

The Cardinals added a run in the top of the eighth to lead 3-1. Rivas walked. Joshua Baez drove in Rivas on a double.

Frisco added two runs in the home half of the eighth to tie the game at three apiece.
In the ninth, Linarez came through with a clutch solo shot to left field to propel the Cardinals to a 4-3 win.

The Cardinals scored four runs on eight hits. Rivas was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Moquete was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Moquete stole his eighth base of the season. Rivas was picked off and caught stealing. On defense, Mendlinger and Ramon Mendoza each made a throwing error. Linarez had a missed catch error.
Springfield is 31-24 on the season and is in first place in the Texas League North.

The High-A Chiefs defeated the River Bandits in a 5-1 game at Dozer Park on Friday. Starter Cade Winquest pitched four innings, gave up one run on three hits, struck out three and walked two.
Tanner Jacobson relieved Winquest and threw two scoreless innings. Zack Showalter hurled two scoreless innings and earned the win. Benjamin Arias tossed a scoreless ninth.
Peoria went up 1-0 in the first inning. Tre Richardson singled and stole second base. Jon Jon Gazdar was hit by a pitch. Ian Petrutz doubled to score Richardson.
Quad Cities tied the game in the fourth. Peoria put up four runs in the eighth to take the lead 5-1. Josh Kross reached on an error. Miguel Villarroel singled. Zach Levenson walked. Ryan Campos reached on a fielder’s choice, and Kross scored. Graysen Tarlow plated Villarroel and Levenson on a single. Won-Bin Cho ground into a force out. Tarlow was out at second. Richardson walked. Campos scored on a fielding error.

The Chiefs scored five runs on eight hits. Richardson was 3-for-4. Villarroel was 2-for-4. Tarlow had two RBI.
On the bases, Richardson stole two bases. Cho stole his sixth base. Levenson swiped his fifth bag. Villaroel stole his 19th base. Cho was caught stealing.
On defense, Richardson and Villarroel each made a fielding error.
Peoria is 22-32 on the season and is in fifth place in the Midwest League West, 10.5 games back of Quad Cities.

The Low-A Cardinals fell to the Mighty Mussels in a 6-2 loss on Friday. Starter Jason Savacool pitched six innings, gave up one run on three hits, struck out four and walked four.
Conor Steinbaugh relieved Savacool and surrendered three unearned runs in the seventh and took the loss. Charles Harrison yielded two runs in 2/3 of an inning. Sam Brodersen got the final out of the eighth.
Fort Myers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Beach Birds tied the game in the third. Cade McGee singled and stole second base. Deniel Ortiz singled, and McGee scored.
Palm Beach took the lead 2-1 in the fifth. Romtres Cabrera singled and stole second base. Raniel Rodriguez plated Cabrera on a single.
The Mighty Mussels put up three runs in the seventh to lead 4-2. They added two runs in the eighth for the final score of 6-2.
The Cardinals scored two runs on six hits. Cabrera was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Johnfrank Salazar stole his first base for Palm Beach. McGee swiped his 11th bag. Cabrera stole his first base.
On defense, Ortiz made a throwing error. Savacool picked a runner off first base.
Palm Beach is 25-29 on the season and is in second place in the FSL East, 4 games back of St. Lucie.

FCL Cardinals 1 at FCL Nationals 5
The FCL Cardinals fell to the Nationals in a 5-1 loss on Friday. Starter Jacob Odle pitched 2 2/3 innings, gave up four runs on four hits, struck out four and walked one. Odle took the loss.
Bruno Lopez relieved Odle and threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Jefferson Moran surrendered one unearned run in two innings pitched. Ronny Oliver tossed the final two scoreless innings.
The Nationals went up 4-0 in the second inning. The Cardinals scored their only run in the top of the sixth. Facundo Velasquez singled, stole second base, and scored on a single by Yancel Guerrero.
The Nationals put up their fifth run in the home half of the sixth.
The Cardinals scored one run on six hits. Yairo Padilla was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Velasquez stole his sixth base of the season. Padilla swiped his 16th bag. On defense, Odle and Moran each made a throwing error. Hancel Almonte had a missed catch error. Chris Lopez had a passed ball.
The Cardinals are 11-10 on the season and are in third place in the Florida Complex League East, 2 games back of the FCL Astros.

DSL Cardinals 8 at Rangers Blue 5
The DSL Cardinals defeated the Rangers in an 8-5 game on Friday morning. Starter Xavier Cruz pitched four scoreless innings, allowed one hit, struck out two and walked two.
Hendrick Cana relieved Cruz and threw three scoreless innings to earn the win. Briam Reyez surrendered four runs in 1/3 of an inning. Brailyn Paulino allowed one unearned run in the final 1 2/3 innings.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sebastian Dos Santos walked. Yeferson Portolatin was hit by a pitch. Juan Rujano ground into a force out. Portolatin was out at second. Yaxson Lucena walked. Dos Santos scored on a wild pitch.
The Cardinals added four runs in the second to lead 5-0. Jesus Perez walked and stole second base. Dos Santos walked. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Portolatin singled to drive in Perez and Dos Santos. Portolatin stole second base. Rujano walked. Lucena tripled to plate Portolatin and Rujano.
The Cardinals increased the lead to 7-0 in the sixth. Dos Santos walked, advanced two bases, and scored on three wild pitches. Portolatin walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Rujano grounded out. Portolatin came home on a wild pitch.
The Cardinals made it 8-0 in the seventh. Michael Cordero walked and moved to second on a wild pitch. Dos Santo walked and advanced on a wild pitch. Portolatin walked. Lucena was hit by a pitch, and Cordero scored.
The Rangers cut the lead to 8-4 in the eighth and shrunk the lead to 8-5 in the ninth.
The Cardinals scored eight runs on four hits. No Cardinal had multiple hits. Lucena had three RBI. Portolatin had two RBI.
On the bases, Perez stole his first base of the season. Portolatin swiped his first bag. On defense, Cordero and Cristopher Lebron both made fielding errors. Lebron had an outfield assist at first base.
