The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Tuesday. The FCL Cardinals were rained out. The Player of the Day is Springfield C Leonardo Bernal, who was 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in the Cardinals’ win over Frisco. Other standouts include Matt Koperniak, Max Rajcic, JJ Wetherholt, and Sammy Hernandez.

The Triple-A Redbirds beat the Indians in a 4-2 win on Tuesday at Auto Zone Park. Starter Michael McGreevy pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowed four hits, fanned four and walked one.
Gordon Graceffo relieved McGreevy and surrendered one run in 1 2/3 innings. Ryan Fernandez threw two scoreless innings to earn the win. Riley O’Brien yielded one run in the ninth to earn his third save.
Memphis scored one run in the third on a solo home run by Matt Koperniak to lead 1-0. Indianapolis tied the game in the sixth.

The Redbirds answered with three runs in the seventh to take back the lead 4-1. Jimmy Crooks singled. José Fermin walked. Matt Koperniak plated Crooks on a single. Mike Antico singled. Michael Siani drove in Fermín on a single. Koperniak scored on a single by Thomas Saggese.

The Indians rallied for one run in the ninth to bring the final score to 4-2.
Memphis scored four runs on seven hits. Koperniak was 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.
On the bases, Nathan Church stole his first base of the season. On defense, César Prieto made a fielding error.
Memphis is 32-24 on the season and is in second place in the International League West, 1.5 games back of Nashville and 9 games back of the IL leader Lehigh Valley.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Indianapolis, Alex Cornwell LHP (1-4, 9.16) vs. Carmen Mlodzinski RHP (1-0, 0.00) 7:05 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals defeated the RoughRiders by the score of 7-2 on Tuesday. Starter Max Rajcic pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowed one hit, fanned seven and walked two to earn his second win.

Sean Harney relieved Rajcic and surrendered one run in 1 1/3 innings. Nick Raquet threw a scoreless eighth. Nathanael Heredia yielded one run in the ninth.
Springfield went up 3-0 in the first inning. JJ Wetherholt tripled and scored on a single by Leonardo Bernal. Chase Davis doubled. Bernal came home on a ground out by Joshua Baez. Jeremy Rivas plated Davis on a single.
The Cardinals added two runs in the third to lead 5-0. Wetherholt singled, and Bernal followed with a two-run home run. Springfield made it 7-0 in the fourth. R.J. Yeager singled, and Ramon Mendoza hit a two-run home run to left field.

Frisco scored one run in the seventh and one run in the ninth to shrink the lead and the final score to 7-2.
The Cardinals scored seven runs on 13 hits. Bernal was 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Wetherholt was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Mendoza had two RBI.
On the bases, Yeager was caught stealing.
Springfield is 28-24 on the season and is in first place in the Texas League North.
Wednesday’s game: at Frisco, Tekoah Roby RHP (3-2, 2.68) vs. Kohl Drake LHP (2-2, 2.97) 7:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs were blanked by the River Bandits in a rain-shortened 3-0 shutout loss on Tuesday. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched six innings, gave up three runs on five hits, struck out four, and walked two. Rincon took the loss.
Hunter Hayes relieved Rincon and threw a scoreless seventh. D.J. Carpenter tossed a scoreless eighth.
Quad Cities took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Chiefs could not get anything going offensively and were held to one hit until the rain came and delayed the game. The game was called after 7 ½ innings.
Peoria’s one hit was a single by Zach Levenson, who was left stranded.
Peoria is 19-32 on the season and is in fifth place in the Midwest League West, 13.5 games back of Quad Cities.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Quad Cities, Gerardo Salas RHP (2-4, 7.84) vs. Drew Beam RHP (4-4, 3.04) 6:35 CT.
The Low-A Cardinals were edged by the Mighty Mussels in a 4-3 loss on Tuesday. Starter Nolan Sparks pitched four innings, gave up four runs on four hits, fanned seven and walked one. Sparks took the loss.
Nelfy Ynfante relieved Sparks and threw three scoreless innings. Yordy Herrera tossed a scoreless eighth.
The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Cade McGee walked. Rainiel Rodriguez followed with a two-run home run.

Fort Myers tied the game in the home half of the first. They added two runs in the third.
The Beach Birds scored one run in the eighth on a Deniel Ortiz solo shot to cut the lead to 4-3.

Palm Beach scored three runs on five hits. Deniel Ortiz was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Palm Beach is 23-28 on the season and is in third place in the FSL East, 5 games back of St. Lucie.

DSL Cardinals 9 at DSL Rangers Red 11
The DSL Cardinals fell to the Rangers Red in an 11-9 contest on Tuesday. Starter Gabriel Chinchilla pitched three innings, gave up one run on three hits, struck out three and walked three.
Pedro Olivero relieved Chinchilla and surrendered five runs in 2/3 innings. Ryan Rodriguez yielded four runs, one earned, in two innings and took the loss. Beiker Rodriguez allowed one run in the final 2 1/3 innings.
The Cardinals went up 1-0 in the second inning. Edward Guribe was hit by a pitch. Cristofer Lebron grounded into a force out. Guribe was out at second. Yeferson Portolatin doubled. Lebron scored on a sac fly by Jhonny Chaparro.
The Cardinals added two runs in the top of the third to lead 3-0. Kenly Hunter reached on a fielding error and stole second base. Miguel Hernandez doubled to score Hunter. Guribe plated Hernandez on a double.
The Rangers scored one run in the home half of the third to cut the lead to 3-1. They put up a five-run fourth to take the lead 6-3.
The Cardinals tied the game with a three-run top of the fifth. Jesus Perez singled and advanced to second on a throwing error. Hunter singled. Hernandez reached on an error, and Perez and Hunter scored. Royelny Strop singled. Hernandez and Strop advanced on a wild pitch. Guribe walked. Lebron drove in Hernandez on a single.
The Rangers broke the tie with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to lead 9-6. They added one run in the sixth and one in the seventh to increase the lead to 11-6.
The Cardinals rallied for two runs in the eighth to shrink the lead to 11-8. Michael Cordero doubled. Perez reached on an error and Cordero scored. Perez went to third on a ground out by Hunter and scored on a wild pitch.
The Cardinals added a final run in the ninth. Portolatin walked, advanced to second on a balk, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a fielding error.
The Cardinals scored nine runs on nine hits. Hernandez was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Hunter and Perez each scored two runs.
On the bases, Hunter stole his first base of the season. Hernandez was caught stealing. On defense, Guribe, Ryan Rodriguez, and Protolatin each made a throwing error.
The DSL Cardinals are 0-2 on the season.
