The St. Louis Cardinals system was 0-2 on Wednesday after Peoria and Palm Beach were postponed and suspended. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Memphis C Ivan Herrera, who was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the Memphis loss to Nashville. Other standouts include Jose Fermin and Masyn Winn.

The Memphis Redbirds fell to the Nashville Sounds by the score of 12-4 at AutoZone Park on Wednesday. Starter Tommy Parsons pitched four innings, gave up seven runs on eight hits, struck out five and walked three. Parsons took the loss, his fourth of the season.
James Naile relieved Parsons and threw a scoreless fifth. Grant Black surrendered three runs in two innings pitched. Dalton Roach relinquished two runs in the final two innings.
Nashville took a 3-0 lead in the second inning. The Sounds added four more runs in the third.
Memphis cut the lead to 7-2 in the home half of the third on a solo home run by Jose Fermin and a single by Ivan Herrera.

Nashville made it 10-2 in the seventh. The Redbirds answered with two runs in the eighth. Masyn Winn and Richie Palacios singled. Winn scored on a single by Ivan Herrera and Palacios scored on a sac fly by Luken Baker. The Sounds put up their final two runs in the ninth to make it 12-4.
Herrera was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Fermin was 2-for-4 with an RBI in his first game with Memphis. Winn was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Memphis is 39-36 on the season, 0-1 in the second half and sixth place in the International League West, 10.5 games back of Iowa.

The Springfield Cardinals lost to the Arkansas Travelers in a 6-2 contest on Wednesday. Starter Connor Lunn pitched five innings, gave up three runs, two earned, on five hits, struck out two and walked two. Lunn took the loss, his fifth of the season.
Chris Roycroft relieved Lunn and surrendered one run in the sixth. Bryan Pope relinquished one run in the seventh and Nick Trogrlic-Iverson allowed one run in the eighth.
Arkansas took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Springfield cut the lead to 2-1 in the fourth. Victor Scott II singled, stole second base and advanced to third on a fly out by Pedro Pages. Scott scored on a force out by Chandler Redmond.
The Travelers added to their lead with one run in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings. The Cardinals scored their second and final run in the eighth. Noah Mendlinger walked and later scored on a sac fly by Nick Dunn. Arkansas scored one more run in the bottom of the eighth to bring the score to 6-2.
The Cardinal offense scored two runs on four hits. No Cardinal had multiple hits. The offense was 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.
On the base paths, Scott II stole his first base in his first game with Springfield. In the field, Irving Lopez made a fielding error. Jose Alvarez had an outfield assist at third base. Trogrlic-Iverson picked a runner off first base and Pedro Pages had a passed ball.
Springfield is 34-36 on the season and 0-1 in the second half.

Peoria, Cedar Rapids (postponed)
The game between the Peoria Chiefs and Cedar Rapids Kernels has been postponed due to hazardous air quality in Peoria. The game will be played as part of a doubleheader on June 29.
