The St. Louis Cardinals system was 3-3 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Players of the Day are the Springfield pitching staff of starter Tink Hence and relievers Zane Mills, Austin Love, and Sean Harney, who threw a combined no-hitter against the Corpus Christi Hooks. Other standouts include Nathan Church, Brayden Jobert, Cade McGee, Heriberto Caraballo, and Miguel Hernandez.

The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds lost to the Tides by a 3-1 score on Friday at AutoZone Park.
Starter Leonardo Taveras pitched two scoreless, no-hit innings with four strikeouts and one walk.

Alex Cornwell relieved Taveras and surrendered one run on six hits in four innings of relief. Ryan Fernandez threw two scoreless innings. Gordon Graceffo yielded two unearned runs in the ninth and took the loss.
Memphis scored their only run in the first inning on an inside-the-park home run by Nathan Church to lead 1-0.

Norfolk tied the game in the sixth. The Tides scored two runs in the ninth to win 3-1.
The offense scored one run on three hits. Church was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
On defense, pitcher Cornwell and shortstop Brody Moore both made a throwing error. Second baseman Bryan Torres had a missed catch error. Center fielder Michael Siani had an outfield assist at second base. The Redbirds turned three double plays in the game.
Memphis is 40-31 on the season and resides in third place in the International League West Division, 2 games behind Nashville, and 5 games behind IL leader Lehigh Valley.

The Double-A Springfield Cardinals defeated the Hooks in a 1-0 game at Hammons Field on Friday at Hammons Field.

Zane Mills relieved Hence and threw 2 2/3 scoreless no-hit innings to earn his second win. Austin Love hurled a scoreless, no-hit eighth. Sean Harney tossed a scoreless, no-hit ninth to earn his fifth save. The entire pitching staff for this game pitched a combined no-hitter.

Springfield scored the only run of the game in the fifth inning. Ramon Mendoza doubled. R.J. Yeager walked. Darlin Moquete singled to score Mendoza.
The Cardinals scored one run on six hits. Mendoza and Dakota Harris were both 2-for-3.
On the bases, Harris stole two bases. Noah Mendlinger was caught stealing second base.
On defense, catcher Leonardo Bernal nailed a runner at second base.

The High-A Peoria Chiefs beat the Loons by the score of 7-1 on Friday.
Starter Jason Savacool pitched five innings, gave up one run on three hits, fanned seven and walked three to earn his first win.
D.J. Carpenter relieved Savacool and threw a scoreless sixth. Jawilme Ramirez hurled 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Tyler Bradt tossed the final 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Peoria took a 5-0 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Travis Honeyman walked. Ian Petrutz walked. Ryan Campos walked. Honeyman scored on a sac fly by Josh Kross. Miguel Villarroel plated Petrutz on a single. Brayden Jobert drove in Campos on a single. Jobert stole second base. Won-Bin Cho doubled to score Villarroel and Jobert.

Great Lakes scored one run in the home half of the fifth to cut the lead to 5-1. The Chiefs added two runs in the seventh to increase the lead to 7-1. Villarroel singled and scored on a Jobert two-run home run.

The offense scored seven runs on seven hits. Jobert was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored. Villarroel was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Cho had two RBI.
On the bases, Jobert stole his sixth base of the season. On defense, catcher Kross had a dropped foul ball error.
Peoria is 27-39 overall, 1-0 in the second half of the season, and is tied with Beloit, Quad Cities, and South Bend for first place in the Midwest League West Division to begin the second half.

The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals lost to the St. Lucie Mets in a 10-6 game on Friday.
Starter Jacob Odle pitched two innings, gave up five runs on four hits, and walked three. Odle took the loss.
Sam Brodersen relieved Odle and threw a scoreless third inning. Nelfy Ynfante surrendered five runs in three innings pitched. Charles Harrison tossed the final two scoreless innings.
The Cardinals went up 4-0 in the top of the first inning. In his first plate appearance since May 18 due to injury, Jonathan Mejia walked and stole second base. Deniel Ortiz was hit by a pitch. Luis Pino was hit by a pitch. Cade McGee singled to plate Mejia and Ortiz. Pino came home on a sac fly by Yordalin Pena. Jose Suarez drove in McGee on a single.
The Mets scored one run in the home half of the first to cut the lead to 4-1. They added four runs in the second to take the lead 5-4.
St. Lucie added to their lead with two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to bring the score to 10-4. The Beach Birds responded with two runs in the seventh to shrink the lead to 10-6. Raniel Rodriguez reached on an error. Ortiz singled. McGee drove in Rodriguez and Ortiz on a double.
Palm Beach scored six runs on eight hits. McGee was 2-for-4 with four RBI. Suarez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Ortiz scored two runs.
On the bases, Mejia stole his eighth base of the season. Suarez stole two bases to increase his season total to nine. Johnfrank Salazar was caught stealing second base.
On defense, second baseman Mejia made a throwing error. Shortstop McGee had a fielding miscue. Right fielder Pena had an outfield assist at second base. Pitcher Odle picked a runner off second base.
Palm Beach is 32-34 overall, 1-0 in the second half, and is tied with Daytona for first place in the FSL East to begin the second half.

FCL Cardinals 3 at FCL Nationals 2 (7 innings)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals edged the FCL Nationals by the score of 3-2 on Friday. Starter Ronny Oliver pitched four innings, gave up one run on one hit, struck out three and walked two.
Edwin Nuñez relieved Oliver and surrendered one run in two innings of relief to earn the win. Alan Reyes tossed a scoreless seventh to earn his second save.
The Cardinals went up 1-0 in the second inning. Heriberto Caraballo singled, stole second base, and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Caraballo scored on a sac fly by Bracewell Taveras.
The Nationals tied the game in the fourth, then took the lead 2-1 in the sixth. The Cardinals added two runs in the seventh to win 3-2. Caraballo singled, and advanced to second on an error. Yancel Guerrero singled. Yoerny Junco plated Caraballo and Guerrero on a single.
The Cardinals scored three runs on four hits. Caraballo was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Junco had two RBI.
On the bases, Caraballo stole his first base of the season. Guerrero swiped two bags to increase his season total to eight. Junco stole his third base. Yairo Padilla was picked off first base.
On defense, left fielder Facundo Velasquez committed a fielding error.
The Cardinals are 14-16 on the season and are in third place in the Florida Complex League East, 4 games back of the FCL Astros.

DSL Cardinals 10, DSL Rangers Red 18 (10 innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals fell to the DSL Rangers Red in an 18-10 slugfest on Friday. Starter Xavier Cruz pitched four innings, gave up one run on one hit, struck out three and walked three.
Hendrick Cana relieved Cruz and surrendered four runs in 2 2/3 innings of relief. Pedro Olivero yielded four runs, three earned, in 2/3 innings. Ricardo Fernandez allowed one unearned run in 2/3 innings and was charged with a blown save. Ryan Rodriguez gave up five runs, four earned in 1 2/3 innings and took the loss. Beiker Rodriguez surrendered three runs in the final 1/3 innings.
The Rangers Red took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Cardinals scored two runs in the second to lead 2-1. Brayan Amoroso walked. Juan Pablo Cabrera walked. Jhonny Chaparro walked. Yeferson Portolatin walked and Amoroso scored. Cabrera came home on a passed ball.
The Cardinals added a run in the third to lead 3-1. Cristofer Lebron singled. Yaxson Lucena doubled. Amoroso singled to plate Lebron.
In the fifth, the Cardinals put up six runs to increase the lead to 9-1. Lebron reached on an error. Lucena singled. Amoroso walked. Chaparro reached on an error, with Lebron and Lucena home on the play. Amoroso scored on a wild pitch. Sebastian Dos Santos singled. Portolatin was hit by a pitch. Miguel Hernandez doubled to drive in Chaparro and Dos Santos.
Lebron plated Portolatin on a single.
The Rangers Red posted a four run top of the seventh to cut the lead to 9-5. In the home half of the seventh, the Cardinals widened the lead to 10-5. Portolatin walked and stole second base. Hernandez singled and Portolatin scored.
The Ranger Red scored five runs in the eighth to tie the game at 10-10. In the top of the 10th, the Rangers put up eight more runs to win 18-10.
The Cardinals scored 10 runs on 10 hits. Hernandez was 2-for-6 with three RBI. Lebron was 3-for-6 with an RBI and two runs scored. Lucena was 2-for-5. Portolatin and Amoroso both scored two runs.
On the bases, Portolatin stole his seventh base of the season. Hernandez swiped his fifth bag. Jesus Perez stole his third base.
On defense, Chaparro made a throwing error. Perez had a fielding miscue. Lebron had an outfield assist at third base. Lucena had an outfield assist at home plate.
The DSL Cardinals are 7-6 on the season.
