The St. Louis Cardinals system went 0-1 on Monday as the FCL club lost and the DSL game was suspended. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, 2B José Fermín, went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, a run and a stolen base in his rehab assignment from Memphis.

Memphis Redbirds – Off
The Memphis Redbirds (37-32) are 8.5 games back of first place St. Paul in the International League West.

In the Texas League North, the Springfield Cardinals (31-32) are in third place and are nine games behind first.

Peoria Chiefs – Off
The Peoria Chiefs (31-32) are tied for second place with Quad Cities in the Midwest League West.

Palm Beach Cardinals – Off
The Palm Beach Cardinals (36-27) have clinched the first-half playoff spot in the Florida State League East.

The Florida Complex League Cardinals (4-5) were walked off by the Mets (7-4) on Monday afternoon at St. Lucie Sports Complex.
Starter Benjamin Arias tossed five innings and gave up two runs on three hits and no walks. The 21-year-old fanned seven. John Lynch threw a scoreless inning.
In the first, Todd Lott’s sacrifice fly opened the scoring on his rehab assignment from Springfield. The Mets took the lead in the fourth, but the Cardinals tied the game in the fifth. José Fermín recorded an RBI single in his Memphis rehab stint. Lott brought across another run in the seventh with a single.
In relief, Ettore Giulianelli pitched a scoreless seventh. Bruno Lopez surrendered a run in the eighth. In the ninth, Alejandro Cervantes yielded four runs, three earned, to erase a three-run Cardinals lead and take his first loss of the season.
The Mets tied the contest in the eighth before the Cardinals took a three-run lead. Jose Suarez singled to score a run and Adari Grant came across on an error. Suarez made the score 6-3 after a wild pitch. In the home half, the Mets hit a grand slam to win the game.
The 40-man roster infielder Fermín recorded the only multi-hit game with two with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Luis Pino had the only other extra base hit, a double. Lott drove in two and walked. The lineup had its chances but went just 3-for-17 with runners in scoring position.
On the bases, Fermín and Yancel Guerrero stole a bag each. Lott was caught stealing and picked off.
In the field, Grant had an error and Arias picked off a runner.
The Cardinals are in fourth place in the Florida Complex League East.

DSL Cardinals, DSL Giants Black – Suspended
Due to inclement weather, the Dominican Summer League Cardinals (3-7) and Giants Black (7-3) contest was suspended. The rookie-level Cards are 4.5 games back of first place in the Dominican Summer League South.
Tuesday’s game: at DSL Angels, LHP Yadiel Batista (1-0, 4.00) vs. TBA 10:00 CT
