The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-3 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis’s Bligh Madris, was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run for three RBI. Memphis Redbirds 11 at Norfolk Tides 7
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds bested the Norfolk Tides in Sunday’s road series finale.
Pete Hansen made his 12th start for Memphis. The left-hander pitched four innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on seven hits, one walk, and three strikeouts.
Austin Love yielded two runs across 1 ⅓ innings but was awarded his first Triple-A win. Luis Gastelum followed with 1 ⅔ shutout frames. Cade Winquest struck out two over 1 ⅔ scoreless innings. Scott Blewett secured the final out of the game for his fourth save.
Norfolk opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning.
Memphis took the lead in the second. Joshua Báez and Leo Bernal lined back-to-back singles. Bligh Madris cleared the bags with a three-run home run, his eighth of the year, to give the Redbirds a 3-2 lead.

The Tides plated three runs in the home second to move ahead 5-3.
The Redbirds tied the game at five apiece in the fourth. Madris and Koperniak walked. Ramon Mendoza ripped a double to score both runners.

Memphis regained the lead at 6-5 with a three-run fifth. César Prieto singled and scored on Leo Bernal’s 10th double.

Madris singled to move Bernal to third. Koperniak grounded a single to bring Bernal home for a 7-5 lead.

Madris crossed home plate via a wild pitch for an 8-5 Memphis lead.
The Redbirds widened the lead with a pair of runs in the sixth. Victor Scott II hit a one-out double. Thomas Saggese reached on a throwing error, allowing Scott II to score. Prieto walked. Bernal scorched a two-out double to plate Scott II and put the Redbirds in double digits at 10-5.

Norfolk scored twice in the home sixth to move within three runs at 10-7.
The Redbirds added an insurance run in the eighth. Scott II legged out an infield single and stole second base. Saggese followed with an infield single. Prieto grounded into a forceout, with Saggese out at second base. Báez flied into a sacrifice double play, with Prieto also out at first base, though Scott II scored before the third out was recorded for an 11-7 Redbirds lead.
Memphis collected six hits with runners in scoring position in the win.
The Redbirds scored 11 runs on 14 hits. Madris was 2-for-3, including a walk, a home run, three runs scored, and three RBI. Bernal went 3-for-4, including a walk, two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBI. Mendoza was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Koperniak walked, singled, scored a run, and drove in a run. Báez singled, scored a run, and notched an RBI. Scott II was 2-for-5 with a double.
On the bases, Scott II stole his first bag with Memphis this season.
On defense, pitcher Hansen and catcher Bernal made throwing errors.
Memphis is 43-26 after taking five of six from Norfolk. They hold a two-game lead in the International League West Division. The Redbirds are off Monday as they head home to AutoZone Park for a six-game set against the second-place Nashville Sounds, starting Tuesday.

Springfield Cardinals 4, Amarillo Sod Poodles 5 (10 innings)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals lost a close extra-innings contest to the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Route 66 Stadium in Sunday’s series finale.
Mason Molina started his 12th game for Springfield. The left-hander threw four innings and allowed three runs on four hits, two walks, and six strikeouts.
Hunter Hayes fired two shutout frames with a pair of strikeouts in relief of Molina. Lefty Jack Findlay gave up a run over 1 ⅓ innings. Darlin Saladin followed with 1 ⅔ innings of scoreless baseball. Randel Clemente yielded an unearned run in the 10th, taking the loss.
Amarillo plated the inaugural run in the top of the first inning.
Springfield immediately tied the game in the home half of the frame. Rainiel Rodriguez singled, stole second base and moved to third on the play via a throwing error. Ryan Campos connected for a single to score Rodriguez.
The Sod Poodles grabbed a 3-1 lead with two runs in the second.
Springfield moved within one in the home sixth. Miguel Ugueto reached on a throwing error. Trey Paige singled. Dakota Harris hit a second consecutive single to plate Ugueto.
Springfield took the lead with a pair of runs in the seventh. Jon Jon Gazdar and Rodriguez hit back-to-back singles. Campos lined a third consecutive single to plate Gazdar and tie the game at three.

Amarillo tied the game in the eighth and the game remained knotted at four to force extra innings. The Sod Poodles plated the go-ahead run in the 10th as the ghost runner scored on a sacrifice fly for a 5-4 lead. Springfield was unable to respond.
The Cardinals scored four runs on 12 hits. Campos was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Harris walked, singled, and drove in a run. Ugueto collected an RBI. Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Gazdar was 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and a run scored. The lineup was just 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
On the basepaths, Rodriguez stole his third bag at Double-A.
The Cardinals did not commit an error.
Springfield is 27-35 on the season after taking just two of six from Amarillo at home. They reside in fourth place in the Texas League North Division. The Cardinals are off Monday and will travel to Equity Bank Park in Wichita, Kansas, for a six-game series with the Wichita Wind Surge, starting Tuesday.

Peoria Chiefs 3 at South Bend Cubs 10
The High-A Peoria Chiefs dropped Sunday’s series finale to the Cubs in South Bend.
Blake Aita started his 12th game for Peoria. The right-hander recorded just two outs and allowed two runs on one hit, two walks, and a strikeout.
Bobby Olsen gave up a run and fanned three over three innings in relief of Aita. Nolan Sparks recorded the final out of the fourth inning. Patrick Galle surrendered three runs in the fifth and took the loss. José Davila allowed two runs and struck out three across 1 ⅔ innings. Jawilme Ramírez yielded two runs over 1 ⅓ frames.
South Bend took an early 3-0 lead with a run in the home first and two in the second.
Peoria tied the game in the third. Jesús Báez reached on a throwing error, and took second base on the play. Jack Gurevitch followed with a walk. Jalin Flores blasted his eighth home run, a three-run shot, to knot the game at three.

South Bend regained a three-run lead with a three-run fifth. After the Chiefs left two runners on base in the top of the sixth, the Cubs plated two runs apiece in the home sixth and eighth frames to jump in front 10-3. Peoria was unable to respond.
The Chiefs scored three runs on seven hits. Flores hit a home run, the team’s lone extra-base hit, and drove in all three Peoria runs. Josh Kross was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk. Gurevitch walked, singled, and scored a run. Won-Bin Cho walked and collected a single.
The Chiefs did not steal a base.
On defense, third baseman Gurevitch made a throwing error. Normally a second baseman, Tre Richardson III made a highlight-reel catch in center field to rob an extra-base hit.

Peoria is 32-31 on the season after taking two of six in South Bend. The Chiefs reside in third place in the Midwest League West Division. They are off Monday as they head home to Dozer Park for a six-game series with the Dayton Dragons, starting Tuesday.

Palm Beach Cardinals 1, St. Lucie Mets 3 (8 innings)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals dropped a close rain-shortened contest to the St. Lucie Mets at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Sunday’s series finale.
Payton Graham made his eighth start for Palm Beach. The right-hander pitched four innings and allowed two runs on three hits, no walks and six strikeouts. Graham took the loss.
Andrew Dutkanych IV made his 2026 debut with Palm Beach and fired three scoreless no-hit innings with three strikeouts in relief of Graham. Nelfy Ynfante yielded an unearned run in the eighth. Kaden Echeman was announced but did not throw an official pitch in the ninth due to the arrival of inclement weather.
St. Lucie took a 2-0 lead single runs in the second and third innings.
Palm Beach trimmed the lead in half with a run in the home third. Jonathan Mejía doubled and moved to third on a Chase Heath single. Mejía crossed home plate on a pickoff error.
The Mets added a run in the eighth to take a 3-1 lead.
The Cardinals looked to answer in the home half of the frame. Heath walked. Facundo Velásquez grounded into a forceout. Smith drew a walk but both runners were unable to score.
The game was called in the top of the ninth inning due to rain.
The Cardinals scored one run on three hits. Mejía doubled and scored a run. Heath and Smith both walked and singled. The lineup was just 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
The Cardinals did not steal a base.
On defense, third baseman Ortiz and shortstop Ryan Weingartner each committed a fielding error.
Palm Beach is 31-32 on the season. They are in second place in the Florida State League East Division, as Jupiter clinched the first half title. The Cardinals are off Monday and will stay at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium to prepare for a six-game away series with the Jupiter Hammerheads, starting Tuesday.

FCL Cardinals (off day)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals are off Sunday and Monday, as they prepare for a home contest with the FCL Marlins on Tuesday.
The Cardinals will look to defeat the Marlins twice in a row after a 4-3 win on Saturday.
The FCL Cardinals are 10-18 on the season.

DSL Cardinals (off day)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals were off Sunday as they geared up for a home contest with DSL Colorado on Monday.
The Cardinals enter the week after a tough 15-13 loss to the DSL Rangers Red on Saturday.
The DSL Cardinals are 6-4 on the season, in a three-way tie for first place.
