The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Springfield pitcher Wilfredo Pereira, who pitched seven one-run innings with six strikeouts in Springfield’s win over Tulsa. Other standouts include Nick Dunn, Nathan Church, Benjamin Arias and Facundo Velasquez.

Memphis at Jacksonville (postponed)
The Memphis Redbirds game was postponed due to rain and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday.

The Springfield Cardinals defeated the Tulsa Drillers in a 9-3 contest at Hammons Field on Tuesday. Starter Wilfredo Pereira pitched seven innings, gave up one run on five hits, struck out six and walked three. Pereira earned his fifth win of the season.
Jack Ralston relieved Pereira and surrendered two runs in the eighth. Bryan Pope tossed a scoreless ninth.
Springfield went up 2-0 in the second inning on solo home runs by Arquimedes Gamboa and Mike Antico. Tulsa cut the lead to 2-1 in the fifth.

In the sixth, the Cardinals put up a crooked number of seven runs. L.J. Jones thumped a solo home run. Justin Toerner and Gamboa walked. Antico singled and Nick Dunn plated Toerner on a single. Pedro Pages walked and Gamboa scored. Antico, Dunn, and Pages scored on a double by Jacob Buchberger. Buchberger scored on a wild pitch.

The Drillers added two runs in the eighth for a final score of 9-3.
Dunn was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Antico and Pages were 2-for-4 with an RBI. Buchberger had three RBI.
On the base paths, Antico stole his 20th base of the season.
Springfield is 29-29 on the season and is in third place in the Texas League North, eight games back of Arkansas.

Peoria 3 at Lansing 2 (10 innings)
The Peoria Chiefs topped the Lansing Lugnuts in an extra-innings contest on Tuesday. Starter Alex Cornwell pitched 5 1/3 innings, gave up one run on three hits, struck out three and walked four.
Matt Hickey relieved Cornwell and surrendered one run in 2 1/3 innings of relief. Roy Garcia tossed the final 2 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his second win of the season.
The Chiefs took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third. Victor Scott II and Nathan Church singled. Scott stole third base and scored on a sac fly by Aaron McKeithan. Church scored on a single by Jeremy Rivas.
Lansing cut the lead to 2-1 in the home half of the third. The Lugnuts tied the game at 2-2 in the eighth.
The game went into extra innings and Peoria took a 3-2 lead. Scott started the inning at second base. He scored on a single by Church. Lansing did not answer.

Church was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Crooks was 2-for-5 and Tyler Reichenborn was 2-for-3.
On the base paths, Scott stole his 45th base of the season. Rivas stole his seventh base and Francisco Hernandez was caught stealing.
In the field, Crooks made a throwing error.
Peoria is 29-29 on the season and is in second place in the Midwest League, four games back of Cedar Rapids.
Wednesday’s game: at Lansing, Ian Bedell RHP (2-2, 2.90) vs. Joelvis Del Rosario RHP (0-2, 3.00) 6:05 CT.
The Palm Beach Cardinals fell to the St. Lucie Mets on Tuesday at Roger Dean Stadium by the score of 5-2. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up five runs on six hits, struck out five and walked one. Rincon took the loss, his third.
Tanner Jacobson relieved Rincon and threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Henry Gomez tossed the final two scoreless innings.
The Mets scored first with two runs in the first inning. St. Lucie added two runs in the third to lead 4-0. The Beach Birds finally got on the board with one run in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-1. Leonardo Bernal reached on an error and later scored on a sac fly by Lizandro Espinoza.
The Mets added a fifth run in the fifth. Palm Beach scored one run in the sixth on another sac fly by Espinoza.
Joshua Baez was 2-for-3 and Adanson Cruz was 2-for-4. Espinoza had two RBI.
On the base paths, Baez stole his eighth base of the season. In the field, R.J. Yeager made a fielding error.
Palm Beach is 34-24 on the season and is in first place in the FSL East.
Wednesday’s game: vs. St. Lucie, LHP Brycen Mautz (2-4, 3.74) vs. TBA 5:30 CT.
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were blanked by the Astros in a 2-0 contest on Tuesday. Starter Benjamin Arias pitched five scoreless innings, allowed two hits, struck out three and walked one.
Randel Clemente relieved Arias and threw a scoreless sixth. Bruno Lopez surrendered one run in the seventh and took the loss. Wilmer Ortega relinquished one run in the final two innings.
The game was scoreless until the seventh inning when the Astros broke the stalemate and scored one run. The Astros added a second run in the eighth.
The Cardinal offense scattered six hits. Luis Rodriguez was 2-for-4. The only extra-base hit was a triple by Jose Cordoba.
On the base paths, Jonathan Mejia stole his first base of the season.
The Cardinals are 3-2 on the season.

DSL Cardinals 11 at DSL Guardians Red 12
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals were the losers in a slugfest with the Guardians Red on Tuesday. Starter Yadiel Batista pitched four innings, gave up four runs on six hits, struck out four and walked one.
Jovi Galvez relieved Batista and surrendered three runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief. Emisael Carrera relinquished one run in 1 2/3 innings. Juan Severino allowed three runs, two earned, in one inning pitched. Juan Hernandez gave up the winning run in the ninth and took the loss.
The Cardinals scored first with one run in the top of the first inning. Facundo Velasquez and Bracewell Taveras each drew a walk. Velasquez advanced to third on a fly-out and scored on a passed ball.
The Guardians quickly answered with four runs in the home half of the first. The Cardinals cut the lead to 4-3 in the second on a two-run home run by Marcelo Perez.
The Guardians increased the lead to 6-3 in the fifth. The Cardinals rallied in the top of the sixth for six runs to take a 9-6 lead. Elias Reynoso drew a walk and stole second base. Velasquez walked and Reynoso stole third base. Reynoso scored on a single by Yordalin Pena. Velasquez stole home while Pena stole second. Fernando Roquez walked, Daniel Rojas walked to load the bases and Angel Gil hit a bases-clearing double. Gil scored on two wild pitches.
The Cleveland affiliate cut the lead to 9-8 in the home half of the sixth. The Cardinals added two runs in the seventh on a two-run home run by Velasquez. The Cardinals led 11-8.
In the eighth, the Guardians tied it and won it in the ninth.
Velasquez was 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Pena was 2-for-5 with one RBI. Chris Lopez was 2-for-5. Gil had three RBI and Perez drove in two.
On the base paths, Reynoso stole two bases. Pena and Velasquez each swiped a bag.
In the field, Taveras made a throwing error. Batista picked a runner off first base.
The Cardinals are 3-4 on the season.
