The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-0 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, DSL Cardinals’ first baseman Brayan Amoroso, was a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI. Other standouts include Cristofer Lebron and Sebastian Dos Santos. We also set up the upcoming series for the week.

Memphis Redbirds (off-day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off on Monday, as they traveled to Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to begin a six-game set with the Gwinnett Stripers on Tuesday.
Memphis is 34-27 on the season following a series split with the Indianapolis Indians at home. They are tied for second place in the International League West Division, and 3.5 games back of first place.
Tuesday’s game: at Gwinnett (ATL). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals (off-day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off on Monday, as they headed home to Hammons Field to begin a six-game series with the Tulsa Drillers on Tuesday. Springfield enters play on Tuesday with momentum after taking five of six from the Frisco RoughRiders on the road.
Springfield is 32-25 on the season. They hold a three-game lead in the Texas League North Division with 12 games to play in the first half of the season.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Tulsa (LAD). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. Springfield’s original probable starter, Tekoah Roby, was promoted to the Memphis Redbirds on Monday.

Peoria Chiefs (off-day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off on Monday, as they traveled to Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to begin a six-game set with the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Tuesday. The Chiefs enter play on Tuesday after a hot stretch that saw them take five of six from the Quad Cities River Bandits at home, including a doubleheader sweep on Sunday.
Peoria is 24-32 on the season. They reside in fifth place in the Midwest League West Division.
Tuesday’s game: at Cedar Rapids (MIN), TBA vs. RHP Cole Peschl (3-1, 1.52) 6:35 PM CT.
Palm Beach Cardinals (off-day)
The Palm Beach Cardinals were off on Monday, as they headed home to Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium to start a six-game series with the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Tuesday.
Palm Beach is 26-30 on the season following a series split with the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels. They reside in second place in the Florida State League East Division, four games back of the St. Lucie Mets.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Lakeland. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 PM CT.
FCL Cardinals (off-day)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were off on Sunday and Monday and will play a road contest with the FCL Mets at the St. Lucie Sports Complex on Tuesday.
The FCL Cardinals are 11-11 on the season.
Tuesday’s game: at FCL Mets. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 AM CT.
DSL Cardinals 11 at DSL Mets Blue 8 (7 innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals won a high-scoring seven-inning home contest over the DSL Mets Blue on Monday.
Earle Zulueta started for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched 3 ⅓ innings and allowed one run on two hits, two walks, and one strikeout.
Ryan Rodriguez yielded one run in 1 ⅓ innings in relief of Zulueta and picked up his first professional win. Beiker Rodriguez surrendered five runs across 1 ⅓ innings. Ricardo Fernandez fanned two and allowed one unearned run in 1 ⅓ innings to finish the game.
The Cardinals pounced early with a four-run top of the first inning. Kenly Hunter reached base on a fielding error and stole second base to begin the game. Miguel Hernandez walked, and Edward Guribe was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Cristofer Lebron hit a single to score Hunter and Hernandez for the first two runs of the game. Brayan Amoroso singled in Guribe, with Lebron to third base on the play. Lebron came home on a wild pitch for a 4-0 Cardinals lead.
The DSL Mets Blue pushed across a run in the bottom of the first to move within three. The Cardinals extended the lead with a two-run fourth.
Sebastian Dos Santos tripled, and Hunter walked to put runners at the corners. Hernandez reached base on a fielder’s choice play, with Hunter to third base and Dos Santos home on the play for the Cardinals’ fifth run. Hunter crossed home plate on a Juan Rujano groundout for a 6-1 lead.
The Cardinals pushed across a pair of runs in the fifth to stretch the lead further.
Amoroso singled with one out. Jhonny Chaparro reached base on a forceout play, with Amoroso out at second base on the play. Dos Santos walked to put two runners on with two outs in the frame. Dos Santos and Chaparro advanced to second base and third base, respectively, via a wild pitch. Chaparro touched home plate on the second consecutive wild pitch to move ahead 7-1, with Dos Santos to third base on the play. Hunter and Hernandez took back-to-back walks to load the bags. Dos Santos scored on the third wild pitch of the inning for the Cardinals’ eighth run of the game.
The Mets Blue added a run in the sixth inning. The Cardinals responded with a trio of runs in the bottom of the frame.
Guribe drew a walk, and Yaxson Lucena was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Lucena and Guribe took second and third base, respectively, on a wild pitch. Lebron loaded the bases with a walk. Amoroso singled to plate Guribe and Lucena to enter double digits in the scoring column at 10-2, with Lebron to third base, and Amoroso to second base on the play, via a fielding error. Dos Santos walked to load the bases. Hunter singled in Lebron to extend the lead to 11-2.
The Cardinals held off a late Mets Blue rally in the victory.
The DSL Cardinals scored 11 runs on eight hits. Amoroso was 4-for-4 with three RBI. Lebron walked, singled, scored twice, and drove in two runs. Hunter was 1-for-3, including two walks, two runs scored, and one RBI. Dos Santos drew two walks, scored two runs, and tallied the only Cardinals’ extra-base hit, a triple.
On the bases, Hunter stole his fourth bag. On defense, catcher Chaparro made a throwing error.
The DSL Cardinals are 4-2 on the season. They will head home to the St. Louis Cardinals DR Complex to play the DSL NYY Bombers on Tuesday.
