The St. Louis Cardinals system was 3-2 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day is Peoria LF Alex Iadisernia, who was 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Other standouts include Leonardo Bernal, Wilfredo Pereira and Sammy Hernandez.

The Triple-A Redbirds fell to the Sounds in a 7-2 loss at AutoZone Park on Friday. Giovanny Gallegos, on a rehab assignment, opened the game with one scoreless inning.
Sem Robberse followed Gallegos and pitched six innings, giving up four runs on nine hits and striking out six. Robberse took the loss, his third.
Jacob Bosiokovic relieved Robberse and threw a scoreless eighth. Kolton Ingram surrendered three runs in 2/3 of an inning. Andre Granillo got the final out of the ninth.
Nashville took a 3-0 lead in the second inning. They added a fourth run in the seventh to lead 4-0.
Memphis finally got on the board in the eighth with two runs to cut the lead to 4-2. Nick Raposo singled. Nick Dunn doubled. Raposo scored on a ground out by Arquimedes Gamboa. Victor Scott II plated Dunn on a sac fly.
The Sounds answered with three runs in the ninth to increase their lead to 7-2.
The Redbirds scored two runs on four hits. Dunn was 2-for-3.
On the bases, Scott stole his 15th base of the season. On defense, Matt Koperniak had an outfield assist at home plate.
Memphis is 29-26 on the season.
Saturday’s game: vs. Nashville, Gordon Graceffo RHP (4-5, 4.58) vs. Tyler Woessner RHP (1-3, 7.20) 6:35 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals beat the Wind Surge by the score of 3-1 on Friday. Starter Edwin Nuñez pitched 2 2/3 innings, giving up one run on three hits, striking out two and walking five.
Wilfredo Pereira relieved Nuñez and threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings to earn his second win. Andrew Marrero tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his second save.
Springfield took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Mike Antico singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Antico scored on a single by Nathan Church. Church advanced to second on a passed ball, then to third on a ground out by Matt Lloyd. Church came home on a balk. Jacob Buchberger drew a walk and went to second on a wild pitch. Noah Mendlinger plated Buchberger on a single.

Wichita responded with one run in the home half of the first. Neither team scored again through the end of the game.
The Cardinals scored three runs on 12 hits. Mendlinger was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jeremy Rivas was 2-for-4. Church and R.J. Yeager were each 2-for-5.
On the bases, Lloyd stole his fourth base of the season. Rivas was caught stealing for the fifth time.
Springfield is 28-21 on the season.
Saturday’s game: at Wichita, Trent Baker RHP (2-3, 6.15) vs. Pierson Ohl RHP (3-2, 3.51) 6:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs crushed the Lugnuts in a 10-5 game on Friday. Starter Cooper Hjerpe pitched four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out six.
Inohan Paniagua relieved Hjerpe and surrendered four runs in 3 2/3 innings to earn the win. Tanner Jacobson threw a scoreless 1/3 of an inning. Zane Mills yielded one run in the ninth.
Peoria took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Zach Levenson singled. Alex Iadisernia doubled. Levenson scored on a ground out by Brody Moore. Osvaldo Tovalin plated Iadisernia on a single. Leonardo Bernal followed with a two-run home run.
The Chiefs added three runs in the fifth to increase the lead to 7-0. Tre Richardson doubled and scored on an Iadisernia single. Moore was hit by a pitch. Bernal’s double plated Iadisernia and Moore.
Lansing finally got on the board with four runs in the eighth to cut the lead to 7-4.
In the top of the ninth. Peoria produced three runs to widen the lead to 10-4. Joshua Baez hit a solo home run. Richardson singled and Iadisernia followed with a two-run home run.
Lansing made it 10-5 in the bottom of the ninth.
The Chiefs scored 10 runs on 12 hits. Iadisernia was 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Bernal was 2-for-4 with four RBI. Richardson was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
On the bases, Tovalin stole his fourth base of the season. Bernal was picked off second base.
On defense, Richardson made a throwing error.
Peoria is 16-33 on the season.
Saturday’s game: at Lansing, Pete Hansen LHP (0-3, 4.93) vs. TBD 6:05 CT
On Friday, the Low-A Cardinals edged the Tarpons in a 4-3 contest at Roger Dean Stadium. Starter Jose Davila pitched three innings, giving up two runs on five hits, striking out two and walking one.
Benjamin Arias relieved Davila and surrendered one run in 2 2/3 innings to earn his second win. Henry Gomez threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Zack Showalter tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his third save.
The Beach Birds went up 1-0 in the first inning. Trey Paige drew a walk. Sammy Hernandez was hit by a pitch. Paige advanced to third on a double play by Miguel Villarroel. Paige scored on a throwing error on a pickoff attempt.
Palm Beach added three runs in the second to lead 4-0. Lizandro Espinoza walked. Adari Grant singled. Paige singled. Hernandez hit a bases-clearing double.
Tampa cut the lead to 4-2 in the third and added a run in the fifth to make it 4-3. The Cardinals held on to win.
The offense scored four runs on eight hits. Johnfrank Salazar was 2-for-4. Hernandez had three RBI.
On the bases, Kade Kretzschmar stole two bases. Chase Davis swiped his second bag of the season.
Palm Beach is 29-20 on the season.
Saturday’s game: vs. Tampa, TBD (PB) vs. Gabriel Barbosa RHP (1-6, 5.27) 5:00 CT
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were walloped by the Mets in a 14-4 thrashing on Friday. Starter Leonel Sequera pitched 2/3 of an inning, giving up six runs on five hits, striking out one and walking three. Sequera took the loss, his third.
Roblin Heredia relieved Sequera and surrendered two runs in 1 1/3 innings. Charles Harrison threw a scoreless inning. Alexander Beltre yielded two runs in two innings. Antoni Cuello allowed three runs in 1 1/3 innings. Wilmer Ortega gave up one run in 1 2/3 innings. Omar Yanez tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Mets took a 6-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Cardinals scored one run in the home half of the first to cut the lead to 6-1. Travis Honeyman drew a walk. Jonathan Mejia singled, and Honeyman advanced to third. Honeyman scored on a wild pitch.
The Mets added two runs in the second to increase the lead to 8-1. The Cardinals made it 8-2 on a solo home run Anyelo Encarnacion.
The Mets continued to increase the lead with two more runs in the fifth and three runs in the top of the seventh to widen the tally to 13-2. The Cardinals produced one run in the bottom of the seventh on a solo home run by Yancel Guerrero for a 13-3 Mets lead.
The Mets tallied their final run in the top of the eighth. The Cardinals answered with their final run in the bottom frame of the inning. Mejia walked and later scored on a single by Samil De La Rosa.
The Cardinals scored four runs on six hits. No Cardinals had multiple hits.
On the bases, Yaisel Ramos was caught stealing. On defense, Guerrero made a fielding and a throwing error.
The Cardinals are 10-11 on the season.
