The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Wednesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis RF Colton Ledbetter, who was 4-for-4 including two home runs with three RBI and three runs scored. Other standouts: Travis Honeyman, Jack Gurevitch, Yordalin Peña, Jonathan Mejía and Bracewell Taveras.

The Triple-A Redbirds defeated the Stripers by a 7-3 score in Georgia on Wednesday.
Starter Pete Hansen pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up one run on five hits, walked two and fanned seven.
Ryan Murphy relieved Hansen and surrendered one run in 1 1/3 innings to earn the win. Austin Love yielded one run in two innings. Victor Santos tossed a scoreless ninth.
Memphis took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Victor Scott walked and stole second base. Thomas Saggese singled to score Scott.
The Redbirds added two runs in the fourth to increase the lead to 3-0. Yohel Pozo singled and Colton Ledbetter followed with a two-run home run.

Gwinnett scored single runs in the fifth and sixth to cut the lead to 3-2.
In the top of the seventh, Memphis put up two runs to extend the lead to 5-2. Ledbetter hit his second home run, a solo shot. Ramon Mendoza singled. Noah Mendlinger walked. Scott plated Mendoza on a single.

The Stripers answered with a run in the home seventh. The Redbirds responded with two runs in the eighth to bring the final score to 7-3.
The offense scored seven runs on 11 hits. Ledbetter was 4-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored. Mendoza was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Saggese was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Pozo was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Scott stole his sixth base. Saggese swiped his second bag.
Hansen picked a runner off first base.
Memphis is 7-7 in the second half.
Thursday’s game: at Gwinnett, LHP Quinn Mathews (4-3, 3.88) vs. Anthony Molina RHP (3-2, 4.14) 6:05 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals lost to the Drillers by a 7-3 score in Tulsa on Wednesday.
In his Double-A debut, starter Blake Aita pitched six innings, gave up four runs on six hits, walked one and fanned five. Aita took the loss.

Edwin Nuñez relieved Aita and threw a scoreless seventh. Jack Findlay surrendered three runs in the eighth as the home club pulled away.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Deniel Ortiz doubled and advanced to third on an error. Ryan Campos walked. Miguel Ugueto reached on a fielder’s choice. Ortiz was thrown out at home. Tre Richardson singled to score Campos.
Springfield added a run in the top of the third to increase the lead to 2-0. Dakota Harris reached on an error and scored on a triple by Travis Honeyman.
Tulsa answered with three runs in the home third to take a 3-2 lead. The Cardinals tied the game in the top of the fourth. Jon Jon Gazdar walked and later scored on a single by Honeyman.
The Drillers regained the lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth and extended the lead with a three-run eighth inning to win 7-3.
The Cardinals scored three runs on nine hits. Honeyman was 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Richardson stole his 12th base.
Harris made a dropped foul error. Gazdar had a throwing error. Richardson made a fielding miscue. Campos had a passed ball.
Springfield is 9-5 in the second half.
Thursday’s game: at Tulsa, Chen-Wei Lin RHP (2-3, 4.28) vs. Payton Martin RHP (4-2, 4.46) 7:00 CT.
The High-A Chiefs fell to the River Bandits by a 10-4 score in Davenport, Iowa on Wednesday.
Starter Nate Dohm pitched three innings, gave up three runs, two earned, on six hits and fanned five.
Ruben Menes relieved Dohm and surrendered one run in three innings. Nolan Sparks yielded two runs in the seventh and took the loss. Bobby Olsen relinquished four runs in the eighth.
Quad Cities went up 3-0 in the second inning.
Peoria put up two runs in the fourth to shrink the lead to 3-2. Jalin Flores walked. Jack Gurevitch doubled to score Flores. Michael Dattalo singled. José Suárez was hit by a pitch. Gurevitch scored on a double play by Sammy Hernandez.

The Chiefs added two more runs in the top of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. Luis Pino walked. Cameron Nickens singled. Ian Petrutz plated Pino on a double. Nickens came home on a sac fly by Gurevitch.

The River Bandits tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the fifth. They added two runs in the seventh and four in the eighth to prevail by the score of 10-4.
The Chiefs scored four runs on eight hits. Petrutz was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Gurevitch had two RBI.
Suárez and Petrutz were both caught stealing.
Dohm made a fielding error. Suárez had an outfield assist at home plate.
The Chiefs have lost seven of their last nine and are 6-10 in the second half.
Thursday’s game: at Quad Cities, Ty Van Dyke RHP (3-2, 4.30) vs. TBD (QC) 6:30 CT.
The Low-A Cardinals were walked off by the Tortugas in a 10-9 road loss on Wednesday.
Starter Brian Holiday pitched 2 2/3 innings, gave up five runs on five hits, walked two and fanned four.
Nelfy Ynfante relieved Holiday and surrendered three runs in three innings. Kaden Echeman yielded one run in one inning pitched. Zeke Wood allowed one run in the final 1 2/3 innings and took the loss.
Palm Beach took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sebastian Dos Santos singled but was eliminated in a force out by Brayden Smith. Smith stole second base. Ryan Mitchell doubled to score Smith.
Daytona came back in the second to score three runs and take the lead.
In the top of the third, the Beach Birds added a run to cut the lead to 3-2. Trevor Haskins was hit by a pitch and stole second base. Haskins advanced to third on a ground out by Dos Santos and scored on a sac fly by Smith.
The Tortugas responded with two runs in the home third to increase the lead to 5-2.
In the top of the fourth, the Cardinals plated two runs to shrink the lead to 5-4. Yordalin Peña and Jonathan Mejia thumped solo home runs.
Daytona made it 6-4 in the fourth and extended their lead to 9-4 in the sixth.
Palm Beach chipped away at the lead with a two-run seventh to bring it to 9-6. Chase Heath walked. Alex Birge was hit by a pitch. Both runners advanced on a ground out. Heath scored on a sac fly by Dos Santos. Smith was hit by a pitch. Mitchell walked. Birge came home on a walk by Peña.
The Cardinals added a run in the eighth to make it 9-7. Heath doubled, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a ground out by Birge. They put up two runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Dos Santos and Mitchell singled. Peña plated Dos Santos on a single. Mitchell later scored on a sac fly by Mejía.
The Tortugas broke the tie with a walk off run in the bottom of the ninth.
The Cardinals scored nine runs on 11 hits. Peña was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Mejía was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Dos Santos was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Mitchell was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Smith stole his 23rd base. Haskins swiped his 14th base.
Ynfante made an error on a pickoff attempt. Birge had a passed ball.
The Cardinals are 10-7 in the second half.

FCL Cardinals 7, FCL Marlins 5 (seven innings)
The rookie Cardinals beat the Marlins by a 7-5 score at Roger Dean Stadium on Wednesday.
Starter Earle Zulueta pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up four runs, two earned, on four hits, walked two and struck out two.
Giovanni Vargas relieved Zulueta and surrendered one unearned run in 1 1/3 innings. Brailyn Paulino tossed a scoreless seventh.
The Marlins took a 1-0 lead in the third inning.
The Cardinals put up three runs in the fourth to take the lead. Kenly Hunter singled and stole second base. J.P. Cabrera walked. Hunter stole third base and Cabrera stole second. Hunter scored on a ground out by Bracewell Taveras. Daniel Rojas singled to score Cabrera. Rojas stole second base. Andru Arthur plated Rojas on a single.
In the top of the fifth, the Marlins added four runs to regain the lead at 5-3.
The Cardinals answered with four runs in the home fifth and held on to win the game 7-5. Chris Lopez hit a ground-rule double. Miguel Hernández walked. Hunter drove in Lopez on a single. Hernández came home on a sac fly by Cabrera. Taveras hit a two-run home run.
The Cardinals scored seven runs on seven hits. Hunter was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Taveras homered with three RBI.
Hernández stole his ninth base. Rojas and Hunter each swiped two bags. Cabrera stole his third base. Arthur was caught stealing.
Zulueta made a throwing error.
The Cardinals are 15-26 on the season and are in last place in the FCL East.
