The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Peoria 2B Jalin Flores, was 2-for-5 with a home run and the game-winning RBI in the 10th inning. Other standouts: Braden Davis, Tre Richardson, Jesús Báez, Jacob Odle, Ian Petrutz and Tai Peete.

The Triple-A Redbirds lost a late lead and fell to the Jumbo Shrimp by a 5-3 score on Tuesday.
Starter Mason Molina pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up two runs on four hits, walked two and fanned four.
Brycen Mautz relieved Molina and threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Cade Winquest hurled a scoreless sixth. Ryan Fernandez tossed a scoreless seventh. Austin Love surrendered three runs, two earned, in the eighth and took the loss.
Jacksonville took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and added a run in the third.

Memphis scored its first run in the sixth on a solo home run by Thomas Saggese. They added two more in the top of the eighth to take a 3-2 lead. Nolan Gorman and Saggese walked. Colton Ledbetter singled to score Gorman. Saggese later came home on a wild pitch.
The Jumbo Shrimp put up three runs in the home eighth to win the game 5-3.
The Memphis offense scored three runs on nine hits. Ledbetter was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Joshua Báez was 2-for-4. César Prieto was 2-for-5. Saggese homered and scored two runs.
Victor Scott stole his ninth base of the season. Leo Bernal had a passed ball.
Memphis is 10-15 in the second half.
Wednesday’s game: at Jacksonville, Brandt Thompson RHP (0-1, 5.40) vs. Patrick Monteverde LHP (2-2, 6.44) 6:05 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals defeated the Wind Surge by a 5-1 score in Springfield on Tuesday.
Starter Braden Davis pitched four scoreless, no-hit innings, walked four and fanned seven.

Darlin Saladin relieved Davis and threw two scoreless innings for the win. Nolan Sparks and Jack Findlay each hurled a scoreless inning. Dominic Picone surrendered one run in the ninth.
Springfield went up 3-0 in the second inning. Deniel Ortiz reached on an error. Won-Bin Cho and Zach Levenson walked. Ortiz scored on a double play by Miguel Ugueto. Tre Richardson followed with a two-run home run.

The Cardinals added two runs in the seventh to increase the lead to 5-0. Richardson walked and Jesús Báez hit a two-run home run. Baez has gone deep in four consecutive games.

Wichita scored their only run in the ninth.
The Cardinals scored five runs on four hits. Rainiel Rodriguez was 2-for-4. Richardson had two RBI and two runs scored. Báez drove in two.
Ortiz was picked off first base. Richardson made a throwing error.
Springfield is 18-10 in the second half.

Peoria 8 at Cedar Rapids 6 (10 innings)
The High-A Chiefs beat the Kernels in an extra inning road game on Tuesday.
Starter Jacob Odle pitched five scoreless innings, allowed three hits, walked three and fanned four.
Bobby Olsen relieved Odle and surrendered four runs in 2/3 of an inning. Dominic Freeberger yielded two runs in 1 1/3 innings. Patrick Galle threw a scoreless eighth. Gerardo Salas tossed the final two scoreless innings to earn the win.
Peoria took the lead in the first inning on a solo home run by Jalin Flores. They added three runs in the second to go up 4-0. José Suárez singled. Michael Dattalo was hit by a pitch. Ian Petrutz followed with a three-run home run.

Cedar Rapids tied the game in the sixth with four runs.
The Chiefs put up two runs in the top of the seventh to lead 6-4. Sammy Hernandez walked and stole second. Anyelo Encarnación walked. Tai Peete tripled to plate Hernandez and Encarnación.

The Kernels tied the game again in the bottom of the seventh.
The game went into extra innings. Peoria scored two runs in the top of the 10th to go up 8-6. Peete was the tiebreaker runner on second base. Jack Gurevitch advanced Peete to third on a fly out to right field. Flores singled to drive in Peete. Josh Kross plated Flores on a triple.

Cedar Rapids failed to score in the bottom of the 10th.
The Chiefs scored eight runs on nine hits. Flores was 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Kross was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Encarnación was 2-for-3. Petrutz had three RBI. Peete drove in two.
Hernandez stole his 11th base of the season. Encarnación made a throwing error.
The Chiefs are 14-16 in the second half.
Wednesday’s game: at Cedar Rapids, Yhoiker Fajardo RHP (2-5, 3.68) vs. Kolten Smith RHP (0-2, 4.09) 12:05 CT.
The Class-A Cardinals were pounded by the Mighty Mussels by a 9-3 score in Fort Myers on Tuesday.
Rehabbing Memphis starter Ixan Henderson pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up two runs on one hit, a home run, walked one and fanned six. Henderson took the loss.
Nelfy Ynfante relieved Henderson and surrendered five runs in 2/3 of an inning. Payton Graham relinquished two runs in the final three innings.
Fort Myers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning.
Palm Beach scored the first of their three runs in fourth. Yairo Padilla reached on an error to second base, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a ground out by Ryan Weingartner.
The Mighty Mussels put up five runs in the fifth to go ahead 7-1.
The Cardinals scored two runs in the seventh to cut the lead to 7-3. Brayden Smith doubled, stole third base and came home on a ground out by Yordalin Peña. Jonathan Mejía reached on an error. Alex Birge was hit by a pitch. Mejía stole third and Birge stole second. Trevor Haskins drove in Mejía on a ground out.
Fort Myers added two runs in the eighth to win 9-3.
The Cardinals scored three runs on five hits. The offense was 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.
Smith stole his 27th base of the season. Mejía swiped his eighth bag. Birge stole his third base. Padilla was picked off and caught stealing. Ryan Mitchell was caught stealing.
The Cardinals are 16-142 in the second half.

DSL Cardinals 4, DSL Mets Blue 5 (seven innings)
The Dominican Cardinals were edged by the Mets Blue by a 5-4 score on Tuesday.
Starter Jose Vega pitched four innings, gave up two runs, one earned, on six hits and struck out two.
Rafaeli Moronta relieved Vega and surrendered two runs in 2 1/3 innings and took the loss. Domingo Mejía yielded one run in the final 2/3 of an inning.
The Mets went up 2-0 in the top of the third inning.
The Cardinals answered with a run in the home third. Christian Sáez and Diego Conseción walked. Jhon Franganten was hit by a pitch. Sáez scored on a ground out by Jesús Pérez.
In the top of the sixth, the Mets increased their lead to 3-1.
The Cardinals responded with a two-run sixth to tie the game at 3-3. Lucas Takahashi walked. Jhonny Chaparro singled, Takahashi scored on an error. Chaparro came home on a wild pitch.
The Mets put up two runs in the top of the seventh to regain the lead at 5-3.
The Cardinals partially rallied for one run in the home seventh for the final score on 5-4. Michael Cordero walked and advanced to second on a ground out by Takahashi. Héctor Cabrera was hit by a pitch. Chaparro singled to plate Cordero.
The Cardinals scored four runs on four hits. Chaparro was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Chaparro made a throwing error. Misael Sánchez had an outfield assist at home plate.
The Cardinals are 19-21 on the season and are in fourth place in the DSL Southeast.
